Nice.. props to Toyota/Scion.
Do you know what is Toyota/Scion or that particular dealership gonna do with the old car with the defect? Sell it at a discount?

I am not sure. Some say they will pull it, cut it, and it becomes a donation to science really. A good car to find out how to improve overall quality. Most likely the part will be fixed, the car will be resold at auction. They put a sheet of paper on it saying it would be sent to auction, but I am sure they do that to any car they buy back.

Good to see it all finally come to closure. And to think you were contemplating repairing it and potentially having to pay a deposit or accepting the defect and leaving it alone. Glad I had a part in encouraging you to vocalize about it til eventually auto journalists blasted it all over the internet. ;)

Did you get a new car replacement for no extra money (except for the trd exhaust)?
How did that work? In other words, how well did Toyota take car of you? In any case, congrats, new one looks great!

Right, I had to pay for the new parts and installation. It is a long story, but there is a thread about it in the recalls/defect section on the forum. I can probably link you to it in a minute.

Congratulations Tanuki, it is nice to see you get some closure, and in the same instance start a new adventure with you new car.

Thank you. They are still going to reimburse me for the clear bra, so I need to get that done so I can finish everything up.
