Hmm the manual recommends 8GB max for the USB drive and that's why I chose this Verbatim one. Maybe the processor is rated to maintain ideal speed/efficiency up to an 8GB drive but can still also read larger sizes.

oh true, it could be different requirements for the BRZ HU. i think the FR-S one can handle portable HDs under 250GB. anything beyond 16 or 32 seems like overkill though.

I have a 16GB sandisk model of this.

While looking for something like this I found something very promising. Specially if you have a Android phone.:drool:

Yeah I was able to successfully watch a XVID encoded DVD rip, works great and a nice thing to pass the time while sitting on a ferry for 45mins... so not only can we watch official DIVX video but XVID as well :party0030:

Using the 32GB Sandisk Cruzer here too.

How about anyone with an US spec FR=S? Can we watch video? (on the Bespoke one obviously, I know the base wont.)

^^ And to add to that... anyone know if the Canadian models with the upgraded HU can do video?

Don't know where the 8GB limit thing came from, but the manual for the standard Pioneer radio doesn't state a limit on USB drive capacity, just USB version, transfer rate and file system limitations. The 255 folder limit may be a problem with the 32GB and larger drives, but it's pretty amazing how much music will fit on a 32, even when higher sample rates are used to rip the files. A USB 2.0 works fine with this unit, and they're pretty cheap now.

ok so i am trying to get this to work and i just need some info. just want to verify you have the bespoke radio also what file code are you using to play movies like .mp4 etc?

Yes you can!

If you re-format to NFTS to store files larger than 4GB (i.e. HD movies), it won't work. It will be stupid slow. And then if you go on to the Sandisk website it says don't format it to NTFS... duh. FAT32 it is then.

i think that's true for any flash drive. you can format any drive in NFTS or FAT32. also i assume everyone would get this for the same reason i would, which was to have a very small flashdrive solely for car music that you could leave in your car, in which case you wouldn't need to reformat it to store files larger than 4gb. that's good to know though for people not sure why there flash drive doesn't work with the car.

I am using a Memorex 64 Gig usb drive and it works great!

I have a 16gb usb and the sound quality is much better than it was with the bluetooth on my phone, though I noticed the usb would only list my music by the CD folders and there's no way to play it on random for all the music. I'm not sure if anyone else would want to do it that way, but has anyone listed all of the music in one big folder? Or do you guys keep it separate and play it by CD?
