This car really is bad luck
So on my way home from work I was waiting in traffic to get off base - come to a stop and the guy behind me just kept going.. right into the back of my car :( the right side of my bumper is about to fall off and i have some scratches. Atleast nobody was hurt.. although i did want to murder this idiot.. 3 weeks into owning the car and this is my first accident ever. Will post pics later.

Aww man that sucks, I hate people. He at least had insurance right?
BTW you're not too far from me, I go to Destin all the time in the summer. |
Man I feel you.. Three weeks after I got mine a **** backs right into the side.. And his insurance only wants to do 50/50.. I've got scratches all over, two cracks in the windshield and about three close calls... One just yesterday when a lady in her Lexus on her cell phone was backing up right into my passenger door.. I start beeping the horn and she stopped just inches from the door lol.. Yeah it's a curse for me.. I've never had so many issues with other people and I drove my xterra a lot more then the FRS..

Wow this is scary.
Why do people drive! My first reaction when I see someone stupid 1. Either on their phone 2. Drunk 3. Really old 4. Female It's mostly 1 & 4. |
People just get mesmerized by the awesomeness of this car and forget that they are driving until it's too late. That's the most logical explanation lol. He did have Insurance thank god. Hopefully they will cover it all, sucks having to pay for other peoples mistakes. ALBadboy - maybe we can meet up sometime this summer then, i'll be here.

Seriously I hate people who talk and text while driving. Its fine if they don't interupt others driving but when they sit on their phone in the fast lane and go the speed limit I make sure to cut there asses off when I have to pass in the middle lane. Seriously its like people don't care about others around them and the phone conversation about what's for dinner is more important.
Sorry you got rear ended. And sucks that there is now an accident on that cars record so soon. And as far as paying for others mistakes I came out to a nice size door ding last Saturday now I have to take time and waste gas to get estimates. What a way to spend hundreds of dollars to fix someone else's idiotic actions. Right when the holiday season is coming. |

Yeah sounds like a total idiot is all. All you can do is cry. |
Stupid carless people.. And the cops ticket me for tags on the front.. Get these people instead of worrying about collecting money!!

All jokes aside, I'm sorry to hear about your car. Choose a good body shop don't just go for the one insurance recommends. |

they are saying f**k you! to everyone on the road! complete disregard for others' (and their own) safety. i guess they don't really comprehend how dangerous this activity can be,especially with the device strapped to their heads! |
I dunno about the #4 stereotype. If I take my personal experiences then its been 50/50, but with a sample size of 2 thats not very acurate. First time in my old cursed car a dude in a dodge ram (how apropro) backed into my passenger door smashing it in and breaking the glass.
A few weeks later when I amazingly found a junkyard car where the only part was not rusted was the passenger door. I got it home and just before I could install it, a woman sideswiped the other side parked out on my street. This time car was deemed a total loss as the frame was bent. And there's a bunch of women drivers at our auto and rally cross that way outdrive me! |
First week i got my FRS i get stuck behind a SUV on the toll bridge. EZ pass prolly didnt work so he decides to go on reverse.... Except he or she doesn't realize there's a car behind him!! I honked multiple times, thankfully the car stopped right before he could smash my front... Bridge patrol went ahead and told the person to pull over, i'm guessing to give him a summons/ticket for reversing on a toll station.
Point is... careful when you're driving this car.... Unusual unexpected tragedies are attracted to it! Sorry your car got rear ended :( |
Glad you weren't hurt! Once it's fixed and you spend next summer driving around having fun, the car will bring you much good luck.

Though not nearly as bad as what other people have had happen I've almost been smashed into twice and I have two scratches on my hood due to rocks being thrown up by random vehicles.

In two moths my car has been hit three times. None that have been my fault one I was not even in the car. Second transmission clutch and flywheel. Going on my third fuel pump. Cel issue. Fogged taillights and literally every issue discussed on this thread.
Bad luck is an understatement but everytime I get back in the car it's amazing all over again. Pic of the most recent one. Sent from my flux capacitor using Taptalk |
I can't stand stereotypes but the other day a lady in an SUV on her cell phone nearly ran me off the road :iono:
sucks to hear OP, but the positive thing about this is, this is what we pay insurance for |
I live on long Island, and I ALWAYS have a bad experience with female drivers.
Honestly, most women around here are very stereotypical. They talk like valley girls/jersey Shore like? (I don't know-they just sound dumb) and are constantly on their fucking phone/never paying attention, speeding and riding on your ass! And I'm still talking about cars here! Whenever I see someone speeding while tailgating - as in "if I tailgate them they will go faster' mentality its always a female. The only people I see who have enough knowledge to change lanes and weave in and out of traffic are males. Seriously, I hate being a female because of this bullshit. Like I said tho, this is just based off of my personal experience while on the road. |

...though, they punish street hooning with a beheading... hmmm... always a tradeoff. |

I don't want to get started, after all I deal with LA traffic 25k miles a year.
But my BRZ is low and small and thus, may be out of the field of vision for truckers, SUVs and those eh, visually impaired. |
Just wanted to thank the moderator for doing a good job on this thread.

I feel you. Five months of ownership and five issues. Got the car July 19th. Everything started August.
1st- hit and run in a parking lot, front left bumper was scrapped. 2nd- T-boned at campus parking lot and the female tried to blame me for not seeing her back out...then she realized how far she pushed my car to a near 90 degree skid 3- Both taillight condensation. It was assumed to accident but ended being two fairly taillights. 4- HPFP, part still on back order since October. 5- windshield replaced. I can't honestly wait for January to find out what's in store for me! |
I am starting to think that it is bad luck....
I just got rear ended stopped at a traffic light tonight OMW home from work.
The light JUST turned green and I was about to take my foot off my brakes, then bam! Was not a hard hit, but scuffed up my lower rear bumper a bit. Rattled me. Glad you were ok OP. I feel the curse coming over me. |
