Car Mods Australia

Hi guys,

Just a heads up, if you need anything for your Toyota 86 / BRZ, I would definitely suggest you get into contact with Daniel from Car Mods Australia. They are based in QLD (I am in SA).

I have just purchased an exhaust from him, and price and service was fantastic! I have been looking at other parts as well, and they are very cheap compared to a lot of other vendors and suppliers (even in the US!).

I have no affiliation with this business, I am just trying to put in a good word for the company because they are a cut above the rest!

Did you get the Perrin? Have you installed it?

Hey mate, yeah got the header back (unresonated). Haven't installed yet... car isn't here for a couple of weeks. What do you have?

ZZT86 12-02-2012 11:08 PM

Zero ! Car delivery in Feb, waiting to see what XForce come out with, heard a proper cat back vid of the Perrin the other day & I was impressed with the sound, as opposed to previous ordinary clips posted. I have bought stuff from Dan aswell, he VERY helpful & doesn't muck round.

rosco186 12-02-2012 11:11 PM

i think the perrin cat back clip also has their front pipe too?

I was so close to picking up a Milltek system from Ian @ Rennenhaus. Ridiculously cheap quote... cheaper than Perrin. It sounded better than the Perrin too, but they haven't released a catted front pipe (which is what I wanted). Perrin already had it.

U lucky bugger ! I also ordered mid July, although I stated on the contract a preference for 2013 build if it was going to be late this year. I guess the dealer has done me a favour? I'm OK with it.

Here's the thread with a good sounding link to the Perrin cat-back resonated & unres. I prefer the resonated, sound fine to me.

I use to work for Toyota, and trust me, December build or January build really makes no difference my friend. All comes down to condition and kms :P

I can also vouch for Car Mods AU. Got a few Perrin goodies from them (shorty, crank pulley, tranny bushing) and it was here basically the next day...

Please let us know how the fitting goes for the Perrin headerback (you might be one of the first to have one down under??)

I have been keen to find out about the Perrin transmission bush? What are your thoughts on it? Any noticable difference?

Also, I heard the tranny bush can put stress on the engine because of its rigidity... thoughts?

According to Daniel, they should be receiving the shipment today and hopefully I receive a delivery notice from them.. already had perrins catted front pipe and overpipe installed, left the catback to complete the set.

The description of it...I mean the purpose of it. The tighter the car, more power will be sent to the wheels. Is not like you are gaining any more power, but you will haved slightly more at the wheels from the same engine under hard acceleration.

Do you think you would gain less vibration at the gear stick?

Also, I heard this can put the engine under stress too... ?

Well, I am wating to see if I can get some engine mounts as well. you need to stiffen both, otherwise you're creating a hard point at the transmission while the engine remains soft which might cause stress.

Here is a link explaining the combination of Perrin part with the Whiteline. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...e+transmission

I have the whiteline part as well that i am thinking to modify to accomodate the Perrin transmission mount.

yomchi1989 12-03-2012 03:03 AM

I heard the Cusco mount was better than the Whiteline (and twice the price mind you lol).

I've been chatting away with Dan about the cars for a while as well .. we both have brzs going through very similar builds to start with, he is going all out tho! A forged crawford bottom end next year. :eyebulge:

Hanging for my Perrin exhaust, pulley and shorty antenna this week, err and some other misc stuff lol.
