Seibon Carbon on Whiteout FR-S
Ok so in my other thread I posted some in the garage crappy pictures of my new carbon hood and spoiler and i figured that it would just be better to have a new thread with good pics right up front.
As for what Seibon parts I have so far here's some links to their site: TS Style Hood: http://seiboncarbon.com/store/produc...ubaru-brz.html SN Style Rear Spoiler: http://seiboncarbon.com/store/produc...ubaru-brz.html Carbon Fiber Rear Fin Spoiler (Roof Spoiler): http://seiboncarbon.com/store/produc...ubaru-brz.html So here's some pics up in White Mountain south of Phoenix: (CLICK THE PICS FOR HIGH RES) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8199/8...fcf0267972.jpg DSC00098 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8343/8...786c877605.jpg DSC00097 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8482/8...6294caa166.jpg DSC00095 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8478/8...f73fb2c326.jpg DSC00096 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8061/8...f06c1ab997.jpg DSC00099 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8200/8...514d7db00c.jpg DSC00100 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8481/8...d7d11d6103.jpg DSC00101 by Supermassive80, on Flickr For those wondering about hood gaps: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8063/8...2716f3b4a7.jpg DSC00107 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8488/8...e1c7e6949c.jpg DSC00106 by Supermassive80, on Flickr Yes the vents are all real: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8345/8...2f1820c9c4.jpg DSC00109 by Supermassive80, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8347/8...a5451996ca.jpg DSC00108 by Supermassive80, on Flickr And since I didn't get a good head on shot out at the mountain here's one in front of my house...I really like this angle ;) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8344/8...dfc9353b5b.jpg DSC00113 by Supermassive80, on Flickr If you guys need any more info just hit me up. As for where to get them? I saved a ton of money on my Seibon parts going through Sean at Vivid Racing! hope you enjoy the pics :) |
Excellent photos, i really like the spoilers and i can't decide on the hood i would probably like it better personally painted but it's almost a shame to do so. That's my major dilemma with CF parts.

Awesome pics! But I didn't know Vivid Racing sold Seibon products for the FR-S. Can't find it here or on their site. Link please? =D

Just got my seibon spoiler today, any mounting tips?
Use the 3m tape? I was surprised no mounting tape was supplied. Looks great Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
Post some more shots of the roof spoiler!

Did you weigh your aluminum hood and cf hood to see how much less if any the cf one weighed? Im curious since I may invest in the DV style hood.
|
Damn that looks pretty good :)... Sending you a PM now as well.

Looks great! I'm digging that hood. We got some stuff headed in for our FRS as well.
|
What did you use to paint the plastic under your hood red?
|
OP, did the vented hood help much with reducing the turbo heat from the engine bay? I'm looking at the Seibon hoods trying to decide which one would be best for my kit (Treadstone).
|
How do you like the hood? I'm considering the TS style as well because it just looks fantastic and I feel like it would actually work to vent heat.
Also, just as a side curiosity if you know, do you think it would be fairly easy to install hood pins on the hood? Or would it be something better done by a shop? |

As for hood pins...well it depends on your level of skill when dealing with cutting/drilling FRP and CF, I've heard CF can dull drill bits pretty quickly and any cutting is also a pain in the ass. |

Cool, thanks! I'm looking at the VS hood, which puts the vent right over my turbo kit. |
OP did you line the underside of the hood with anything?
|
Is the spoiler functional or purely aesthetic? That is, does it change the downforce on the rear end at all?
