Extreme speed@ willow springs Dec. 15-16th

I seen on their Facebook page for 90$ they are running the streets... Is anyone going to this... I've been to a trackday before at the streets, but on my bike.. I haven't done a trackday in a car... Ever... So I'd really like to find some people that are going that really could give some good pointers... Although the point is to get around as fast and quick as possible.. My main goal is to learn my car, get a good feel for it.. And have some fun..

IShouldStudy 12-01-2012 07:11 PM

Hey, I have not been on the streets course but did a track day with extreme speed on the big course. I'm planning on coming at least one day. I've only done a few track days with speed ventures at the auto club speedway but got bit and can't stop now. I felt that extreme speed is a well run event but not quite as "true" beginner friendly as speedventures. I also like the download sessions that speedventures uses. Never the less extreme speed is organized and way cheaper. Hopefully we can get a group of frs/brz going.

Gixxersixxerman 12-01-2012 07:39 PM

Ill be there on the 15th and doing the scion cruise on the 16th.. I'm hoping a few will go to the trackday.. Like I said I would like some hands on experience with people that know about the car

IShouldStudy 12-01-2012 09:25 PM

I registered for Saturday, the 15th, just trying to decide if I want to do Sunday too. I've had to pass up a few track days because I'm in law school so I have to get track days in where I can.

robispec 12-01-2012 09:27 PM

I'll be there both days!

TOTO_86 12-01-2012 09:40 PM

whoa? what time? interested! :O

robispec 12-01-2012 09:41 PM

start to finish fine tuning the suspension and new parts on the car...

If your car has ANY of the following, you fit into the Over class:

- Race tires or any tire UTOG Treadwear rating 139 and lower

Short of those mods, you fit into the Under class, regardless of suspension, aero, gutted, etc. We want to keep the rules as simple as possible, and the competition nice and friendly :)

Extreme Speed will be giving prizes to the winners of each class.

Additionally, ALL FT86club forum members will be given a $40 track credit toward a future track day with Extreme Speed. You must show up with a FR-S, BRZ, or AE86 to receive the credit!

Discount code for the event is "sow9", bringing it down to $90 for the track day. Please be aware that Willow Springs charges a $10 fee at the gate per person. You can sign up for the event at www.extremspeedtrackevents.com

If you have questions about the track day, please email Extreme Speed at sung@extremespeedtrackevents.com

If you have questions about car setup and/or prep, please send me a PM, and I'd be more than happy to guide you in the right direction.

The CounterSpace BRZ will be present at this event, as well as the Robispec FR-S. Both cars will be giving rides throughout the day.

robispec 12-04-2012 07:37 AM

I should be there Both days, All day. Come take a ride and drive your own "twin" like it wants to be driven..Instruction and rides all offered

diirk 12-04-2012 09:06 AM

I ran with ExtremeSpeed a few weeks ago on the Streets and had a great time. The event was well organized and everyone running was very nice. It's definately worth the time and money and with the deal posted above it's a must-do.

I really want to, just not sure if my schedule will allow it.

I'd imagine a lot of "faster" cars would be upset if your car ran a 24, even if it was on hoosiers ;)

That's cool. I'll be there early too. I live pretty close so it's easy for me. If anyone going needs anything locally, drop me a line.

Mark Slide Squad 12-05-2012 07:47 PM

I think I'll be signing up for this too. Hopefully I'll break into the 1:28's with just Hankook RS3's and brake pads :)

This sounds great Mike! Are you going to run this for us? I'm in for sure!

For all BRZ/FRS cars, I'll cone out a section in the pits near the main garage on SAT morning. I'll pit my black FRS there and we can all park together - if you want to of course. I'm not sure I'd want to pit next to me either but you're more then welcome to pit as a group. I'll be sure to set it up for all us cool kids

What size RS-3's are you running?

CSG Mike 12-05-2012 09:41 PM

Chris, Ill show up early to help set up. We can park our cars on either end of the coned off area.

I'll be on fresh RS3s too... no more "completely fubar setup".

My Project Mu B-force are still in great shape, but thanks for the heads up! I just need to find 0.4 of a second to break into 1:28's, Gotta refine my lines and I think i'll get there!

That's a great lap for just tires and pads. I'm looking to hit the 1:30 mark with RS3s, but I'll be running 225/45. I'm looking forward to driving it with better tires. I bet it makes all the difference in the world.

diirk 12-06-2012 03:45 PM

I'll be happy to be anywhere in the 130's.

No problems Eric - with all the experienced drivers at this next event you'll get some good tips for sure. Just be sure to get them in your car, or get into their cars and you'll be hitting 1:35 in a stock car no problem. I'll take you for a ride for sure. I was mid 1:30's all day long last time in my completely stock car.

Chris,
Sounds like a great plan. I'll definately take you up on the offer of a ride and to get someone in my car too. Hoping to have the opportunity to follow someone around the track also.

CSG Mike 12-06-2012 04:48 PM

Does anyone have extra GoPros I can borrow for a session or two? I'd like to get some laps following and being followed by Robispec's FRS.

I have two older ones (hero 1's I think) you can use them, but bring a bunch of AAA batteries as they burn through them fast. Also bing some extra cards, I'm down to only 2 myself, but I'll bring all I have.

That's perfectly fine. I didn't know it could run off of AAA batteries. Costco time...

Gixxersixxerman 12-06-2012 05:56 PM

So for a first time in my car at a track and it being a auto.. Mid 1:40's as like a 1:45 is what I should expect... That's what I ran first time on my gixxer, first time there..
