Why are Civic owners such tools?

I dunno. When I was looking for some Toyota Paseo information I found this old thread on a Civic forum where they raided a Toyota Paseo forum (Paseo Pimp) They were like oooh its a shit econobox! But c'mon their driving a civic. Not an Si, Not a Type R, a D16, Single Cam Civic with an engine swap. Why is that sooo much cooler than a Paseo (A 1.5L Econobox) with an engine swap? I mean your saying "My Econobox gets soo much more bitches than your econobox". And I found another thread full of Si owners bashing the Corolla XRS. They were saying shit like "The only thing Toyota I would buy is a MR2 or a Supra". Well that's infinitely cooler than a fucking civic. I know not all Honda owners are like that but those seem pretty rare.

VenomRush 11-18-2011 03:29 PM

they are tools, because they were raised that way. the fact that most of them own a civic is coincidental

Neutral_Eyes 11-18-2011 03:34 PM

:sign0015:

I saw a new Civic coupe yesterday. Damn thing looks so much like an older Accord, and is about as big. I kinda feel sorry for the Civic guys, I'd be all assmad too if they continued to ruin a decent design I was fond of.

switchlanez 11-18-2011 03:47 PM

"Civic." Some owners bring irony to the name lol

Dave-ROR 11-18-2011 04:10 PM

This happens within every circle. Go to Honda forums and you'll see Nissan loving trolls, VW loving trolls, Mazda loving trolls, Toyota loving trolls, etc.

Trolls/stupid fanboys happen to own all types of cars. Just ignore all of them.

What I never understand is why people feel the need to point out that troll group A infested troll group B's forum.

Ryephile 11-18-2011 04:40 PM

Trolling is a show of ignorance and immaturity. Most car clubs contain at least some unsavory types that simply want attention rather than information exchange and camaraderie.

RRnold 11-18-2011 04:52 PM

Each brand loyal forum will have it's fair share of trolling.

If you think the Civic forum is bad, I'm assuming you've never been no stormfront.org (white power forum).

I'm not on SF.org but was pulled into a side discussion thread about why white men liking asian girls yet hate all other ethnic groups. :bellyroll:

Longhorn248 11-18-2011 05:19 PM

Welcome to everywhere. Every group has its a-holes and d-bags, and they're always louder on the.internet.

:bellyroll: my bad! Just to let you know, I'm not white, I'm asian.

Back on topic, can't really pass judgment against Civic owners just from several random threads.

Giccin 11-18-2011 08:09 PM

I'm waiting for the hardcore subaru fanbois to jump on this forum and bitch about why its not AWD and how its not really a subaru. When it isn't really a subaru. Lol

switchlanez 11-18-2011 09:36 PM

^HAH both sides can argue til they die that it's really a Toyota or it's really a Subaru (it's both).

Dark 11-18-2011 10:00 PM

Yes, it's both. Now back to the topic. LOL

All i did was rofl.:bellyroll:

this is what I enjoy about this forum. I come from nasioc and man has it changed over the years. But this ft86 forum is filled with people from Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, etc etc. Its refreshing to get ideas fom different groups for once and not a bunch of kids who can finally afford a wrx because of resale value and troll the forums up. Most people on that forum think the WRX is this invincible super car. The only thing I dont like in particular about forums in general is the people that do not have a lot of knowledge get bashed on a lot. We all have our specialized fields unfortunately cars is not mine. But I read I learn and thats that. When I purchase this car I am going to consider myself a fan of the BRZ and Subaru and Toyota. I really hope the age group for this car stays in the higher 20's +. Seems like trolls tend to be my age and younger.

Take away the boxer engine and the platform and I will agree with Giccin on this one.

i do a little trampling here and there, but i have no issue whether someone knows something or not, only when they spread false information. if you DONT know something dont be ashamed to admit it, simple as that ;)
yes there are lots of trolls on every forum

That should really only happen when people spew BS and insist that it's fact, or try to correct someone with false information. If you're not entirely sure about something, but still want to speak on the subject, "I think.." or "I thought that.." goes a long way towards improving the response received and learning more in the end.

Unfortunately the cheaper the pricepoint the more immature people you're going to find on a particular forum. On top of that you get the problem that you stated with the WRX, once they depreciate enough everyone can afford one.

nrclptcnsmniak 11-22-2011 09:34 AM

Yeah true. I just want to say how nice it is to be on a fresh forum. I hope this forum stays this way for a while. Good job and props to the Mods.

n2oinferno 11-22-2011 01:29 PM

Well, if it's named Paseo Pimp, it's just asking to be trolled..

Depends on the individual owner though. Blanket statements are just as bad as the trolls, really.

OldSkoolToys 11-28-2011 03:18 AM

You know I get more thumbs-up and waves, and 'cool car' gestures in my AE86 from Civic/integgy/RSX drivers nowadays than I do "DRIFTERS" riding around in 240sx's, slammed to the ground, with a drift charm on their bumper. They just drive right by. And don't say "well maybe they didn't notice..." Bullshit. An AE86 sticks out like a really sore thumb.

Its saddening really.

All he needs to do is get married, turn 25, take defensive driving, have multiple cars, and pick up another policy (home owner/renters/etc) on the same carrier and he'll be set.

chewyv 11-28-2011 06:20 PM

I can't completely agree with you there. Rather, I believe that the majority of "brand" enthusiasts are tools based on the fact that they are overly biased. Not only that, but also their lack of experience with other makes/models/brands.
