Singapore !!!
If u're from Singapore, do introduce yourself.
Can't wait for this beast to arrive to our shores ! My current ride : Subaru 07. |
Hey there.
Also in Singapore but going to be one of the first to buy I think. Very excited too! There will be a lot of information coming soon but current COE pricing is going to make it $170,000......Ouch! |
Great to hear from a Singaporean. I think our current COE is going to kill this car sales here too.
People from the States are predicting this car to cost at about US$25k and anything above it is expensive. I was like ... WAT ???? US$25k for a car??? Lucky bunch of people ! I can't even get our current COE for US25k ! Hope to hear from more Singaporeans here and any updates from Borneo Motors. |

I'm not going to pre-order cos the COE is scaring the shit out of me. |

As for me, I wouldn't dare to pre-order. If the COE were to reach 100k by then, then that's it for me ! Big time ! I'll wait for it to arrive here & see the situation then. Y is there only the 3 of us in this forum? Are we the only 3 from Singapore interested in this car??? |

Great to see more members here !!!
|
someone on BMW.SG forum quoted his SE saying approx price 180k... if really 180k i will be out
|
If 180k I'm out too. I'm hoping it won't cross 140k actually :D
It's shouldn't cost more than a Civic Type R, which is priced at $168k now. |

180k may kill the car sale......
For a 2L car. |

Hi all, my name's Jerry, 39 and a Singaporean. My current car is a '09 Nissan Latio but might buy an 86 although am not totally sure on that yet. Even so, it wouldn't be next year but more like in '15 or '16 if and when the COE prices get a reprieve. Haha! :)

It is reported that Malaysians will get their BRZs between June and September of 2012. We can roughly expect the same for Singapore. http://forums.asiaone.com/showpost.p...&postcount=625 |

year 15 or 16 will probably have the turbo-charged or supercharged 86 for you to choose from. |

Welcome to the forum renyeo !
I sure hope the COE will go down in 2013. Spoke to my uncle who works at Cycle & Carriage yesterday. He told me 2012 COE will be worst than this year. I'm aiming for the 86 actually. Either Orange or White :D Catch up with u guys again in a week's time. Flying off to Bandung later for a short get away :happyanim: |
Thanks, sazu. White is also my choice of color. Hopefully there will be pearl white or similar. Have a good trip there!
|
2012 Cat B COE won't be that good.
Cat A will be better, more Cat A due to scrap (those from 2001). Should we wait for the turbo/supercharged 86 or get the NA first? i'm thinking the resale for the NA ones will be no good once the turbo/supercharged version s are out a few years later. :iono: |

Regarding resale market, I won't be worrying about it because the GT-86 will always be in demand wherever the car's sold. That said, you need to be one brave soul to drive it across the causeway, haha! Just saying... :eyebulge: And early batches of cars might have kinks (bugs) in them so it can be worthwhile to hold out for a little longer. My 2c... :bs: |
Check out the colors in the following link. And yes, there is satin pearl white!

Nice blue and looks good with the smoked alloys, kinda like "don't mess with me" type.
Sharp Integra you have there. :brokenheart: |
The Latio has a low level of NVH and great ease of use so I will be concerned about these aspects on the GT-86. Until then, a test drive is the proper way to find out. But then I suppose a sports car has to be markedly different in character. Lol!
Hoping Borneo Motors wouldn't include leather as standard fits because cow hides are basically dead weight and therefore defeats the true purpose of GT-86 which is one of a lightweight purist sportster. |
someone on mycarfourm mentioned borneo salesmen estimates a 200k pricetag come apr2012... i'd rather buy a resale BMW 125i coupe (or 350z, or bmw 130i hatch or etc etc - or stretch abit and a resale Elise is within reach)...
i think Akio Toyoda will also tell you don't buy his car at $200k. totally defeats the spirit of the car. i'd like to have one in grey tho, with either Super Advans or TE37s |
