Ultimate Racing SS 3 Inch Catback Exhaust

Yesterday got installed one of the first (if not the first) Ultimate Racing Stainless Steel 3 Inch Catback Exhaust System in my 2013 Scion FR-S down here in Puerto Rico.

I want to thank JO Alignment (Jorge and the crew) and Ultimate Racing (Johnson). Im SUPER happy with the quality of the product (welds, flanges, v band connectors for the pipes, fitment, etc) the feel of the car after installation. Its NOT loud but its not quiet. For me its a perfect balance of power and sound quality. This is a complete bolt-on catback exhaust system including 3" midpipe and dual muffler section.

Specs:

- 304 stainless steel piping
- 3/8" thick machined flanges
- Dual high-flow mufflers with straight through design
- Multiple muffler tip options (see below for choices)
- TIG welded to perfection
- Completely Bolt-on
- V band connection

There are different volumen control and muffler tip options.

Standard Midpipe

Straight, and to the point.

Resonator added to Midpipe
Smoothes the tone of the exhaust, and aids in the removal of in-cabin resonance which can occur in some vehicles.

Note: Our catback exhausts are first and foremost, performance exhausts. While these volume control options do help reduce some volume, it should be noted that the exhaust will still have an aggressive tone and will likely never be mistaken for an OEM exhaust.

4" Single Wall Polished Tip (Straight Cut)

JoeBoxer 11-17-2012 07:56 PM

Damn that's a lot of welding on that thing, looks pretty good but seems like a lot of work.

Danzzt231 11-18-2012 12:04 AM

Wow, 3inch huh? :o

s2kdrew 11-18-2012 12:27 AM

Heard ultimate racing on ralliart. Was pretty loud

Danzzt231 11-18-2012 08:41 AM

Video, please!

raz0rbladez909 11-18-2012 12:29 PM

My buddy had some ultimate racing stuff on his Evo X, definitely quality craftmanship from them!

Captain Insano 11-18-2012 08:51 PM

Wow that is great. Been thinking I want to start with 3" piping and that thing is beautiful. Agree with others sound clips!

Blue86 11-18-2012 09:00 PM

looks nice!

Jamifra 11-19-2012 08:38 AM

should have some sound clips (outside and inboard) during the week!

VSGTS14 11-19-2012 09:40 AM

wow. i love it. i run an ultimate racing 35r kit on my sti and i really like it. i've never had anything made by them before, and i really like their products.

yomny 11-19-2012 11:53 AM

That looks very nice in my opinion., a good option for those going turbo. the v bands make this thing a nice quality piece. Dyno on NA car would be nice.

probably going to the dyno on wednesday well see

my only performance mods right now are a Apexi drop in filter and the 3 inch catback

yomny 11-19-2012 12:13 PM

That'll be really nice if this exhaust gave us NAs a good amount of power. I'll definitely get this since im planning on going turbo in the near future. Is this being fabricated right now, sale?

SalM 11-22-2012 01:30 AM

Any more pics and vids? Definitely intersted because I want to go the turbo route really soon and 3 inch is perfect with 5" tips.

czar07 11-22-2012 03:26 AM

looks nice!

FreshFRS 11-24-2012 04:31 PM

No vids? I wanna hear this!i imagine its pretty loud though. and one question what is the weight as compared to the factory catback? and clearance wise how is it? would you consider making the midpipe a single piece to add a longer resonator for those of us who will be going to headers, and cat-less front pipes?

no videos yet! it definitely weights a lot less but we didn't actually tested the weight before installing. as for mid pipe modification you would have to contact Ultimate Racing.

hows it for loud in your opinion? say a scale, 1-10 1 being quiet; 10 being loudest. :thanks:

to me its like a 7

if you are cruising in the highway at 65mph in 6th you barely notice you have an exhaust installed.

shuynh 11-28-2012 02:07 AM

wow, it looks awesome! definitely wanting to hear the sound and video.

ngabdala 11-28-2012 02:20 AM

Contact them. When the videos are ready they will email them to you. I am currently waiting.

shu5892001 02-21-2013 01:39 PM

Any updates on this?

shu5892001 03-06-2013 12:15 AM

Updates? lol

Acree 03-06-2013 12:24 AM

Does any one have a video clip? I'd like to hear this exhaust under load. It's freaking gorgeous with the 4.5" tips.

-Acree

mad_sb 03-06-2013 02:07 PM

That is going to be loud as fire... same design as evo and ralliart and it is one of the loudest available.

The Slow One 03-06-2013 03:56 PM

I love those 4.5" tips!

m.wood0213 03-09-2013 04:20 PM

anyone know where to order this in the states?

FAER 03-22-2013 06:00 PM

Why isn't there more fire being generated about this exhaust?!?

CircuitJerk 03-22-2013 08:19 PM

OP Went for beers...
Do video first, then beer! LOL

Mr. 03-22-2013 11:37 PM

Man, I'm pretty jealous of this exhaust setup. All I wanted after I turbo'd my car was a 3in dual muffler setup..

XPR Small Block 03-23-2013 09:39 AM

loooks like they gave up on the thread?

OmarGC 03-23-2013 02:08 PM

Yup my new exhaust... Non resonated + 4" ti angle cut

Ultimate racing is based in the In North America, goto their website. They're TOP NOTCH, when they come out with a brz/frs turbo kit it's going to be epic.

Edit: sales@ultimate-racing.com

FAER 03-25-2013 12:41 AM

I plan on running Ultimate racing simply because they are the only high quality 3" exhaust i have seen on the market...

3" Stainless steel mandrel bends...

not to mention they will have a 2.75" upp/over pipe

so I can run this combo on my AVO stage 2 Kit..
