WING or NO WING?

4 Attachment(s)
I've been gawking at the Rocket Bunny kit ever since I layed eyes on it, looks beyond amazing!!

but I CAN'T MAKE MY MIND UP!!!

So im going to start a poll. What do YOU like?? And post your opinions!
WING or NO WING WITH A DUCKTAIL LIP??!!

p.s. disregard my horrible photoshop skills

RazorHawk 11-14-2012 07:23 AM

Honestly, I can't believe that is even a question! With some tame little lip kit, maybe no wing, but this kit looks totally incomplete without the wing, and that wing is pure awesomeness!

yea i need to correct my post, you CANT have it without anything! Its either the wing or a lip... just not sure if its "too much" for mostly a road car

Asphaltfrs1 11-14-2012 07:43 AM

Idk without a wing it looks incomplete. But I do think some sort of ducktail spoiler might look nice with it.

wbradley 11-14-2012 07:46 AM

Unless this is a track car and that wing actually serves a practical function I'd pass. Looks like the car has 600 HP. If it has 200 or so that's false advertising.
Also, there's all kinds of similar looking wings (aside from the mounting) on eBay for cheap.
Sorry, but I just figured out what I consider "rice".

This and fart can exhausts turn me off!

Mari0 11-14-2012 07:50 AM

Rocket Bunny kit without the wing is simply incomplete. If you are going for the "crazy all out look at me race car!" look, you might as well go all the way. And in my personal opinion, the wing is the best part of the kit, despite me not being too fond of huge wings.

Hope that helps.

RedRocket 11-14-2012 07:53 AM

people are on crack who think it should go without a wing...

wbradley 11-14-2012 08:11 AM

I should also add the radical look is great...on a race car. And it will look weird without that iconic aileron.

MVJ1975 11-14-2012 08:30 AM

You ain't got a thing if you ain't got that WING!

whaap 11-14-2012 08:31 AM

Any road car with a wing, especially with a wing like that, looks like crap. The only place for a wing is on the track where speed allows it to perform its function. On the track it's function over form. On the street it's form over function and to me that spells rice.

RaceR 11-14-2012 08:57 AM

On the first picture I would say without wing. On the rest, wing.
Wing suits the body-kit better in my opinion. Go for the wing.

MarkMash 11-14-2012 09:14 AM

if it makes any difference, the wing will = heaps of drag.

of course a bit of downforce, but as if you need it on the road... looks a bit much for the road imo

you can always leave it off and put it on at a later date - or buy it separately?

MarkMash 11-14-2012 09:17 AM

random Q - can you buy the rear diffuser part separately?

The rear bumper part of this kit...

im not quite sure, on the GReddy site they only have the full kit or the kit w/o the wing. Im not sure but there must be someone where you could buy it seperately, whether it be ebay or a vendor..

heres the link for the GReddy site mate http://www.greddy.com/products/aerod...er:model:FR-S/

Agreed.

I think the wing is overkill (too radical) if you're going to be driving the car daily on public roads.

However... For the track atmosphere, it's superb.

I'd go without it because this car doesn't need it unless you're really going all out on the track benefits / modifications like the member (my friend) @pcasso87 did with his own FR-S.

Good luck.

RT87 11-14-2012 11:17 AM

When I first saw the wing I thought it was too much, but it has grown on me and I think it suits the kit well. I think you should do what you think is best for yourself, if you like the wing then go for it. I'm pretty set on getting this kit, and it will be with the wing.

CharlieChaos 11-14-2012 11:32 AM

Im not usually a fan of a giant wing like this and Im with most people when I say if you are going with this kit it has to have the wing

SupraLove 11-14-2012 11:36 AM

Unless it's a highly dedicated track car that you are also using as a DD, no wing. I will say that it looks great on the Rocket Bunny kit, but that's a track car first and foremost. Putting a wing on a standard FR-S = RICE. Don't do that crap, man, we don't want these cars turning into Civics.

But on that particular car, it looks incomplete without that wonderfully gargantuan wing. It's lovely.

dori. 11-14-2012 11:39 AM

if it's a daily, hell no!

if it's a show queen go for it

zenki_levin 11-14-2012 11:54 AM

I would put a ducktail wing on.

Turbowned 11-14-2012 05:15 PM

I agree, no wing if you're gonna drive it on the street often. Otherwise, GO BIG OR GO HOME!

jabbajaw99 11-14-2012 05:37 PM

That wing is too much for a street car. I could understand if it is for track use.

RazorHawk 11-14-2012 06:43 PM

I need to correct my post too, as I kinda came off sounding like a jerk, but I really think that kit needs that wing, or at least a reaaly big ducktail.

Leonardo 11-14-2012 07:08 PM

The wing is only part of the kit. You will also need a super aggressive wheel and tire combo to make the wide body kit look AMAZING! I am still a fan of wheels with a big lip, though concave wheels seem to be the NEW NEW...

So... YES on the wing.

Braces 11-14-2012 07:18 PM

Yes on the wing for track events. No for DD. Maybe the wing can be placed and removed easily ... as needed.

JPxM0Dz 11-14-2012 07:24 PM

I love that Rocket Bunny wing! I just can't justify the cost of that badboy. When I first got quoted a price on it, I had to go back to the pics to see if it was dipped in gold and secured with solid diamond bolts :eyebulge:

Very cool wing though

ozne99 11-14-2012 07:33 PM

I'd say without the wing.

Kochinopride 11-14-2012 08:09 PM

I personally do not like that kind of wing. A lip on the trunk seems more subtle. Wings to me remind me of the Fast and Furious movies and all the ricers out there. Are we really driving 100mph+ everyday that the wing has a purpose? Of course this is all opinion in the end and you'll have to decide for yourself... But I would do a Rocket Bunny kit (probably next year if no other wide body kit comes out) and I'd do it without that wing... A Lip works for me. :) - good luck!

IloveBaldEagles 11-14-2012 09:19 PM

IMO, this is how I would see it on the street. Suits more to be in the track.

yea i wish you could do that too.. By the looks of it, if you remove that wing you are going to have a lot of holes to fill up...

liluxiaorealnew 04-05-2013 09:39 AM

is wing that size legal on street?

NorseLegend 04-05-2013 10:03 AM

I absolutely LOVE the wing. BUT, and this is a big but (and I cannot lie), with just a street car, that's still not making a huge amount of power, it's a bit over kill. Try maybe a more exaggerated lip spoiler, kind of like what Lux-Motion has, because honestly, unless you're planning to track this pretty often, it's too much for street use.

Cameronghanson 04-05-2013 10:48 AM

^ agree. Awesome for track car, way to much for street car.

russv 04-05-2013 12:08 PM

It would interesting to see if someone could develop a wing like many of the Porsches have that would rise up from the rear as you reach the appropriate speed. But that would mean it would probably stay lowered 99% of the time.

Loki2x 04-05-2013 12:50 PM

I agree with the Lux-Motion idea. Here's another aggressive lip from AB Flug that think would work.

+ if you're a baller and have got extra bills laying around, you could get this SARD wing. It looks like it attaches under the trunk so you would not need to drill through it. That way you could take it off when you're not on the track.
