[review]Stay away from Ecutek FA20 tune(stg2) if.....
- If you like your car the way it is, smooth and with a non responsive throtlle pedal.
-If the power of the car stock scares you or your gilfriend is, cause you are in for a treat with this tune. - If you don't like to get push back in your seat when floor the gaz pedal. - If you don't like great service, a customer service that answer your questions in the hour, even in week-end and late at night. A tuner that is gonna stick with you till the tune is perfect for your setup(intake, exhaust, ect) If you like it the other way around i could pm you a link of a thread for that. So, It' the third time a fall in love with this car, First drive, drive at the track, and now with this tune. The first time I drove my car with this tune it was a rainy day(slipery) and on winter tire studed lol. And even with all those condition I felt the car chewing on the road. I'm the kind of guy that when a get in my fr-s a push the tc button for 3 second to take all granny mode off. Not anymore at very best I put it in sport mode and sometime reach for the buttton again cause it gets scary. I can't wait for summer with my summer tire to see how great it's gonna be on track/street. What is even greater is that i'm on the first map tune I did'nt even send them dataloging yet. What's gonna happen then?? i'm I still gona be alive to come back and makes so comments on the tune lol. Jokes apart the FA20 tune is funtastick, and their sevice is on par with the tune, I highly recommend it. |

i assume he likes the tune :)

I think this is the opposite of a troll. FA20Club.com are great guys with a great product and excellent service!
|
im anxious to order
|
I was about to say wtf but you will definitely get some clicks on the thread from his customers with that thread title...
FA20 does a great job, i've got a catback ordered and i'm not sure if it will need a new file but i'm sure he will send me a new one anyways once i send some logs in. |
whats the power on this stage 2? what mods are needed with this?
|
20+ whp, automatic or manual, mods: Intake. I was skeptical at those claims, but after install I have no doubts it's a complete differant car.
|
yeah exactly, for the pull it would'nt be good cause i'm on winter tires with stud. With the tune now with all controls off even in fourth gear my tails gets happy on a WOT so its pretty dangerous. but be sure you gonna have a minimum of a sec of your 0-60.
To give you an idea i'm also beta testing Perrin tune which is not finish cause jeff found something wrong in the data reading with the intake and with even with that when I flash my car with it I droped .75/sec on my 0-60 from stock ecu. Go see the video of that but you will see that there's something wrong at the pull off. And FA20 tune I don't have that at all and i'm pretty sure ill drop another second from the unfinish Perrin tune. I am worried the stage 2 tune may lean the mixture out a bit more.... perhaps a bit too much for my liking... Any dyno and AFR info?

And it's a false start as you can see the bad lunch. And the video is on Perrin tune not FA20. So up to now I would say jsut by the feeling of it that I feel the FA20 is twice the power of Perrin, but wait Perrin is only beta for now will see the end result when both are done testing. And the ultimate test will be on dyno. |

Also, I'm sure you have noticed the harsh rev limiter, cutting power and such on the stock tune. It really bothered me when I was at the track (drifting) and it would literally bounce off the limiter once and lost power unless I shift. My question now is: Do either of these tunes remove the power cut at rev limiter, or at least raise the limit? |

That's why every test of 0 to 100 km/h are around 7,6 - 8 second in the euro mags |

The best 0-60 I got so far is 6.1 with my Perrin tune. That is with a realy good launch and a fast shift.

Guess I don't have a choice then lol, i'll try to make you one as soon as I have a chance and if there's no snow.

Ok so I want to do some logs to use with virtual dyno, And I did a 0-60 pull with my winter tire studed lol just for the kick of it, I did my launch at 3000rpm so I don't spin to much but it's not the best at taht rpm. But still with all taking into account I manage to do 6.7sec
Here's my whp numbers on vitual dyno, FA20 and stock first and then Perrin(not optimised yet) http://www.quebecbrz.com/forums/gall...5&image_id=273 |
