If you like them, go ahead. They're lighter than stock, Enkei is good quality, and they're a good price. I'm not really seeing a downside...

Suffa 11-08-2012 09:46 AM

I've been thinking these in bronze on black.

lokvo 11-08-2012 09:57 AM

Yep I'm leaning towards the EV5s myself, as other wheels I like are just way too expensive for the wallet at the moment lol.

fender9530 11-08-2012 12:09 PM

Does anyone have these on Asphalt yet? Photoshop would be awesome if someone has the time.

wbradley 11-08-2012 12:39 PM

I know we are talking more $, especially due to tires but...

I'd keep the stock wheels and tires and get the Enkeis 1.5" wider with wider stickier rubber.

Now you can swap as you wish and have a nice track day set.

I have a Raven FR-S with the full 5:AD set as well. This pic shows me what if...

I will resist lowering the vehicle as the stock suspension works great and I dont want to mess with geometry/wheel travel.

Gotta try and ignore wheel gap. Form to achieve function...

For the money, these seem like a deal. Not a wallet breaker, look decent, and don't weigh too much

i agree. i was about to go TSW..but dang almost 250/per -- + tires since its bigger. i just want slight mod and dont want to spend way too much either. stupid economy u know...

yea, i may pull the trigger on these. i keep going into the garage and looking at my stock rims and i just think they make the car look dull... thats the only part that looks dull. :)

Since I'm in Australia the stock GT 86 wheels aren't actually too bad looking, albeit they're 16" they sort of resemble watanabi's...I'm all for moving away from the stock look however.

Oh wow I like those!

The only thing I felt that the OPs rims were missing was the concavity that this one had but still good choice

DarrenDriven 11-12-2012 09:27 PM

Do you know the offset on these? I need to add that to the specs.

If they really are 17 inch they only come in +45 or +38 and looking at the pics its difficult to tell but I would guess it would be +38 as it would appear more aggressive than standard.

DarrenDriven 11-14-2012 12:54 PM

Sounds like good logic to me.

EV5 Enkei on stock tires --

I didnt want to spend too much , and i found out you cant order the StarSpec2 tires till 2013 (according to DiscountTire) - so i just decided to keep stock tires (17x7) but change the wheels only -

Im having some second thoughts about this - I did notice that the spoke design and the machined-lip makes the wheel seem smaller than stock but thats some optical illusion or maybe its just me. just wanted to share this with you all.

Still managed to save about 2.5lbs/wheel and i can tell a bit of difference in how much lighter it feels.

miodculae 11-28-2012 07:57 PM

those rims work surprisingly well. initially i wrote them off but i see they have some pop. you are the second person to sport these rims, and both times they look sweet.

can you step back and take some wide angle side shots ?

mugen79 11-28-2012 11:41 PM

Good choice!!!

Yea, they arent RFP1's.. but maybe should of got them in 18's -- but i was trying to do this as cheap as possible. -- with 18's id have to ditch these and get 4 new tires $$. :) but i feel better now i think - here are a few more pics as u asked for.

on a side note, i am not sure what the big issue are with these tires, i know they arent StarSpecs' but they handle preetty good - if i did 18's i may consider the same Primacys... idk ??

anyway... here ya go .. for those of you on the 'fence' ...

ngabdala 11-29-2012 03:17 AM

Beautiful

lokvo 12-03-2012 01:47 AM

Mind if I ask which offsets these are? +38 or +45

Foobar 12-03-2012 10:25 AM

These look fantastic. Are these 17x7's? The fit with the stock tire is perfect, in my opinion. I'm not a fan of too much stretch, and it's nice if the tire's rim protector actually has a chance to do its job.

They do look smaller than the stock wheel, but that's because the spokes don't extend to the rim, and the rim is pretty thick, so there is definitely an illusion of sorts going on since your mind wants to focus on the spokes. For these types of wheels, an 18 inch would probably feel a bit better, but then you're going to think it's smaller than other 18's and the cycle continues.

Looks great as is, as far as I'm concerned. Real classic look and the colors complement your vehicle nicely. Thanks for sharing!

Edit: as far as the Primacy HP's are concerned, they aren't *bad* tires. They're damned expensive for what you get though.

DarrenDriven 01-02-2013 12:53 PM

New topic merged -- same wheel with same specs.

aqua8701 05-04-2013 04:51 AM

bump.
Did you ever replace the tires on these wheels? I'm about two days from getting these wheels myself and so far am going your original route as far as utilizing same tires.

^^^^ this :bellyroll:. Form to achieve function and you run 19' ?

BRAWL 05-04-2013 07:55 AM

awesome wheel choice mate :)

sosick 07-29-2013 12:19 PM

Those are 45 offset

KevinK121 03-30-2015 12:26 PM

Why oh why couldn't they make these in at least x8....:sigh:

jarviz 11-23-2016 12:40 AM

sorry to bring up an old thread, but has anybody seen these in bronze on a raven?

chipmcdonald 12-17-2016 12:47 PM

...and, sorry to bring up the old thread as well, but....

I suppose I'm a wheel noob, but... if those are 17x7 +38 why are the stock tires stretched? What am I missing?
