the pearl in the whiteout...
in person is it more noticable? in pictures it seems like it needs the right lighting conditions to make it visible. some pics make it look flat white, some are very pearlescent. in person, does it look more pearl like?
|
After looking at it... it looks SLIGHTLY dull white.
|
id like to hear from the people who own it and see it every day.
|
Pictures don't do justice. When the sun shines on it, it's gorgeous..but sometimes, it's like you have to be looking for the pearls to find it
|
Yes, the pearl is definitely noticeable especially if the car is clean. I love the colour and own a whiteout myself.
|
Yes the sun needs to shine on it. In the night with a lot of street lamps it looks creamy...also on overcast days. In my garage it just looks white
|
I have one. I look at it almost everyday ( garaged for the winter). Pictures do not do it justice. It looks relatively the same as Toyota's alpine white in pictures. In the light or sun and in person is the best. when light rolls over it it glistens which is an effect you can't get in pics.
|
yes the pearl is extremely noticeable. the color is something that ppl point out whenever they see my car. the white is more of an "off-white" color but slightly transforms under diffferent light. It is full of depth and varies throughout the entire car depending on the direction of light too.
|
Yes, it is very noticeable. I get tons of compliments on it.

It must also be clean. I washed my car after neglecting it for a few weeks, and it was down right sparkly seeming.
You must see it in person. |
It sparkles in the sunlight like Edward Cullen.

100% dependant on light.
Cloudy day = almost matte white Sunny day = super pearly Compare it to the Lexus pearl white, it's very similar. |
If there is a direct light source hitting it or in bright lighting, the pearl sparkles. I like it since the pearl creates contrast and helps bring out the body lines of the car more.

Was never a fan of "pearly" colors until i realized how much it exaggerated all of the little sexy grooves :eyebulge: |
White is my favorite color for a car but my FR-S is firestorm because I really have a hang up about pearl white. I don't like it at all. I guess that's why they make vanilla and chocolate.
|
I am not sure on the pearl they use in it, but it probably has some red in the hue as opposed to blue like the Lexus cars have with the blizzard color. This is a very nice pearl color, but it has a satin feel to it. Almost hints of bronzing maybe?

Everything the others have said already. In sunlight the pearl shows beautifully. In artificial lighting the pearl goes to sleep and the paint seems more white and depending on the brightness of the light it can even seem off white at times. Great contrast and gives character to the paint.

Calling my car Edward from now on......... |
Any direct light that hits the paint causes the pearl to be very evident and it looks superb.
(Caution: Big Photos) At walkaround distance the pearl is very metallic. http://i.imgur.com/Jj0BY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CuCob.jpg Further away it becomes more of a lustrous sheen that flat whites don't have. http://i.imgur.com/M4LoA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cHZgF.jpg This color gives you the benefits of normal white in allowing you to see the car's shape easily, but unlike flat whites it allows light to play across the surface and contours and actually give you variance in the color. It is more interesting than flat white in bright light which has a tendency to blow out. Though this color really does demand you keep the paint in good shape. Thank goodness I got to my car's paint before the dealer did, so they never managed to do anything to it other than peel the tape off. The Subaru dealer I originally ordered my BRZ from absolutely butchered the paint on their brand new BRZ's. When clean and swirl free it really is a great color. |
