Motiv Concepts Prototype Overpipe

Hey all!

We just got done building our first prototype overpipe for the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S. Initial impressions on our project car is very promising, and we should be entering production with it within the next few weeks.

Yes, yes, yes. PM me when it's ready. Will look (and perform) great butted-up against my Motiv test pipe! :D

fl_speed001 11-03-2012 10:45 PM

Nice to see some additional over pipes coming out...might be time to complete my header back set up...

RedRocket 11-03-2012 11:13 PM

Nice quality welds, its hard to tell from this distance due to the grinding, but good beading... I love the look of it...

ABQautoxer 11-03-2012 11:29 PM

Very nice! Next up, headers!

Will it fit the RHD model?

Please!!!!!!!!!

PradiG 11-04-2012 01:40 AM

Will this be fitting the automatic models as well? I hear that some over pipes have trouble fitting since the auto transmission is larger than the manual.

We'll have to bring in an automatic model to test fit. It is a very tight space in there, so we'd honestly have to test-fit it first before we could confirm. We did our best to build it with adequate clearance on all sides, but it's not something we can answer at the moment. We'll let you know as soon as we find out though!

Not sure on this one either - we haven't seen a RHD model up close and personal. If someone could provide us with some undercarriage photos with the panels removed we could take a look.

Your crazy.. somebody had to dress those welds up...

jiaim 11-04-2012 10:09 AM

Class art work, waiting for the header and resonated silent exhaust (Europe is stringent about it).

Considering I watched it getting welded, it wasn't dressed up!

We'll do a video of the next one being welded from start to finish so you guys can see us at work ;)

MotivConcepts 11-04-2012 11:56 AM

Here's a 100% photo crop of the welds so that you can see there was no grinding involved.

The auto trans should only affect the fitment of the midpipe, not the overpipe, unless the flanges meet in separate locations.

PM Sent!

Man, thats some good looking welds... After seeing so many of these chop-shop looking welds this is a breath of fresh air.. This is how a PROFESSIONAL shop welds should look... Not everyone can weld like that..

djliquidsteele 11-04-2012 04:05 PM

Yeah...I'm gonna need one of those.

Motiv definitely brings the quality in their products, i have their test pipe and will have everything front to back eventually. The customer service is amazing as well, if you want me to test out on the auto trans just let me know.

We have a list going up for a 'group buy' to help us on the initial costs. We'd like to be able to run a production run of 10 to get it going. So if you are interested, sign up and we'll be PM'ing everyone with pricing and ship dates.

I have been waiting for this... Love my frontpipe with HFC, your overpipe will probably be my last mod before AVO turbo next year.

MotivConcepts 11-14-2012 02:00 PM
