Why do you have the FR-S HLs?

Its a GT spec

VADER 11-03-2012 03:55 PM

so your gt spec is like our FR-S, but with fogs?

Sort of but that isn't fog lights. They are helogen DRL.

VADER 11-03-2012 08:36 PM

No I mean right under the turn signals.. those are fog lights. the blue light in the other pic next to the projectors are the DRLs

Skorov 11-03-2012 08:43 PM

Looks good man! Personally, I'm not a fan of the 86 badge on the rear. Feel like it's too small to be there. But each to their own.

Yes those are helogen DRL for our market. They are not fog lights on our GT spec, only on our GTS spec (which has HID and LED DRL like JDM headlights).

Correct. For Australian markets, the base 86 model, those lights are the DRLs. This as confuse a lot of people.

Looks great, they look like 9.5+38 all round? What coil overs are you running?

Correct, running 245/35/18s all round and they fit perfect. Coilovers are BC RAs.

Paragon 11-04-2012 08:28 AM

how do the BC coilovers feel to you compared to stock? Im still tossing up btw the BC and KW V3s so great to get some local feedback. What spring rates did you go with? Cheers.

Suffa 11-04-2012 09:41 AM

I want those laser headlights lol

jet86 11-04-2012 03:32 PM

BCs are probably my favourite coilover. I had the budget to buy teins and I still got BC. I also run BCs on my RB2634 s13 drift car and my mx5. Have never had a problem with them. ATM their set at number 15 (medium). It is a little bit stiffer than stock but not by much. On their softest setting their softer than stock lol.

Xauterus 11-04-2012 07:43 PM

So how much lower is the rear than stock ? I'm surprised how much those wheels tuck in. Mine is still at stock height and the rim edge pokes out which was starting to worry me a bit after getting followed by a cop car yesterday.

jet86 11-04-2012 10:13 PM

rear is about 2.5" lower and front is about 2" lower. Without touching any camber on the rear it is sitting at negative 2.1 degrees at that height, the fronts at neg 1.35 deg. Wheels dont foul on anything at all.
these are the coilovers.

How does the car feel with the huge wheels on and what is your alignment specs? Considering getting similar sizing if there isn't too much tramlining

I can't really compare the ride quality with stock as I put 12kms on the car before I bolted the wheels ad suspension on.
Currently the car feels amazing, incredibly grippy, still good fun in the wet, ride isn't harsh at all, I did a 700km cruise through twisties and had no issues with comfort. IMO I love it. Gtx3071r + tial housing is on its way. Stay tuned :)

Xauterus 11-06-2012 10:44 PM

How did you get the rear toe back to zero.

I dropped mine 30mm and it had 25mm Toe Out. I ran out of adjustment and will raise it 5 mm to help reduce the 2.5 mm toe out I have now.

nix 11-06-2012 10:58 PM

Do you mind taking front and back fitment shots to show the poke/tuck on them, thanks.

Hmm my toe wasn't that bad :/. I got it back to zero but it was maxed on adjustment

StuAU 11-07-2012 03:49 AM

jet86 11-07-2012 04:48 AM

Yeh but the fronts look like they sit out too much so wouldn't 8.5s +38 upfront be better?

I have the 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears. I think next time I would go 8.5" all round for a neater fitment.

I have the same size tyres on the rear but my pirellis look a lot more stretched than the federals.

Remember you can always change wheels when you get sick of them. A couple of years might be enough for some.

The amount you want to drop the car will make a big difference on how the wheels look too. Those 9.5" fronts would look way too far out at stock height.

If you are concerned keep the size conservative.

jet86 11-07-2012 09:17 AM

Fronts don't stick out at all. It's just the angle of the pic as well as their turned a little bit. Looking down from the top of the car u can't see the top of the rim
