WORKS Resonated AB and Drop in filter
 

I got an email from Pete from WORKS and they just got their Resonated AB (R-AB) muffler delete and their Drop-in filter.. They will have one of the R-AB installed this weekend so that they can get a dyno result plus video/sound clip for everyone can check out. The R-AB has a resonated pipe with resonated tips to minimize the drone in the cabin. These parts will be available this weekend while he is dyno tuning.



*They may have the WORKS Mid-Pipe (MP) and Axle Back Muffler (ABM) available but not sure if it will be available this saturday.*

We've already dyno'd the drop in and got with on stock flash
+10+ HP @ 7000 RPM
+7+ TQ @ 6400 RPM

They've used the same technology from their EVO X filters and made it available for the FRS/BRZ. On the EVO X this filter made 18+hp and 13+tq, they used the way it was constructed with multilayer 100% cotton fabric (not gauze) in stainless steel mesh reinforcement (not mild steel or aluminum). I cant copy and post the dyno results from their website but that was my car bone stock running on 76's 91 oct with the TSB chirping issue.

isnt one pipe gonna be louder than the other?

No, the airflow on the left tip isnt direct so it will just get the bleed off of passing airflow

He dyno'd an FRS with an Injen intake with no HP gain, then used this filter and that was the result.

How big are the tips on the ABM? Where can I get order them

They are 76mm (3inch) tips and they can be bought through WORKS. Contact WORKS and look for Pete who is the owner and tell him that Mike from the FT86club sent you... :thumbsup:

Just got back from WORKS and got the R-AB installed.

First impression: Its looks so nice, the welds are clean and tips are perfect. Its very light and when we got it installed it fits perfect on the car, no issues with clearance. For the price you get more than what you pay for.
When we started the car up it sounded exactly like an EVO, not a 240sx or a civic but an EVO it has a VERY VERY deep throaty sound but not like a V8.

Driving impression: NO drone what so ever, at 70 mph you will hear wind noise than the exhaust but when you punch it you will get the deep tone.

Very tempting. Now that I like it I'm a little more miffed that they blew me off though.

yeah its available for everyone who wants to buy it, he would like people to swing by next weekend after the norcal meet.

Its best to call them and order it that way so you can get the introductory price of 299.00 and if you want to get bigger tips thats the best way.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the R-AB and the WORKS Stealth exhaust are different things? The video you posted is for the Stealth not the R-AB. I would expect the R-AB to be a lot louder than any muffler?

what time does he close? the meet will finish around 5pm.

although we wont be at novato anymore at that time.

The one that i posted IS the R-AB not the stealth, Its loud when WOT but not droning in the car like any muffler delete. The video is labelled wrong cuz thats my car thats on the lift and its exactly the same as the item i posted that they are selling now. the stealth is only loud when you WOT but its not loud at all just like stock.

if they are open late or we can wrap up earlier on Saturday I would totally be down to visit there and check it out. phenom86 if you'll be at the meet as well I would love to hear your R-AB in person. I like the weight savings you'll get from the muffler delete but don't want to be so loud and obnoxious that the sheriff hears me coming from miles away.

I will join you guys at the meet this saturday, ill pay my way this week so you guys can hear the R-AB
