DaveyG 11-01-2011 04:20 PM

Dealers know nothing. Take this with a grain of salt. An acura dealer told me in 05 that the next rsx-s was gonna be a turbo, lol.

They're just tryna get your money early dude

Toyota fr-s 11-01-2011 08:29 PM

I went to the dealer to buy parts for my mr2 and asked about the fr-s.... Their scion manager told me that the all-wheel drive FR-s was not schedule until 2013. I didn't even say anything, just got up and walked away.

I remembered then how dumb the people who work at the dealer are and why I do all the work on my cars vs take them to the dealer.

Trust me, we will have all the information here before it hits the dealers. I almost slapped this one guy once for insisting my celica gt-s was a V6

Sea1monkey2 11-01-2011 09:10 PM

They actually took the time to call you!

You should have told them that you'll buy the car if they sign a contract. State that if the car doesn't arrive by March 1st 2012, you'll charge them $1/day. :bellyroll:

I like to go car shopping and mess with car salesman since majority of them are so full of shit...

JDMluv 11-02-2011 09:17 AM

TMNT 11-14-2011 09:05 PM

So when is it expected to be release? My friend said in June 2012

Giccin 11-15-2011 03:54 AM

Lol.

I went to the dealer down the street where I live.

He said the new Scion (FRS) will have twin turbo.

HAHAHAHA.

I secretly rage laughed.

oneday 11-15-2011 08:08 AM

I stopped in a local dealership and they were super cool when I asked about getting on the list and putting a deposit down. The salesman I spoke with was a younger guy (25-30) and said, "Hmmm, the FR-S? Not sure we have a list for that. Let me get my manager."

A few minutes later he comes back and says they don't have a list yet and won't have an official list at least until the the service department starts to get part numbers for replacement components in the system, and they expect that to happen about six weeks after the unveiling (mid-January). He said that I probably knew more about the car than they did but that they suspect it will be late-spring for the initial delivery.

CN: I am the list at my local dealership.

Sounds like a legit dealership to me! It's refreshing to hear of places being up front with customers and not feeding them BS in order to just get a deposit out of them. Back before the GT-R came out there were dealerships taking $5k deposits on the car a year out even before it had been shown at TMS with no clue on delivery dates.

CountChoculitis 11-15-2011 10:42 PM

Hey now, not all dealers are bad.

I just got a sales job at a Scion dealership, and that's half the reason I'm here. I want to be knowledgable about everything Toyota/Scion has to offer, this car specifically, because I plan on getting the first one in the Southeast region, well, I hope anyways. lol

I got the job because, I'm 22, drive a nice tC, and love the brand. They hired me to educate the other sales people on Scion, to help promote it, and cut most, if not all the bullshit out selling these cars.

Believe me, if I don't know the answer to a customers question, I'll find them an answer, and I won't lie about it - that's probably another reason I got hired.

So that's why I love this forum so much, and I'm so glad it's here. Because I don't want to be 'that guy'.

Gardus@Supersprint 11-16-2011 02:14 AM

Good luck for your new job Count! I've never met a salesman on forums and I never undestood why, I know it takes some time but in the end it pays off both knowledge and sales.

Sully 11-16-2011 10:00 AM

Because car salespeople are not necessarily car people. Oddly.

Gardus@Supersprint 11-16-2011 10:11 AM

That's not so strange, even where I work there are people that don't care at all for cars and it's just a job.

Buggy51 11-16-2011 10:52 PM

Well according to Subaru:

"NOV. 30, 2011 - TOKYO MOTOR SHOW
  • Tune in for the global reveal of the production SUBARU BRZ.

U.S.-spec production SUBARU BRZ makes its debut in Detroit.
  • ON SALE—SPRING 2012
The SUBARU BRZ takes the road."
So yeah, I hope its coming in Spring!
