I'm not familiar with BPS...I'm waiting for Kartboy's shifter and bushings, but I REALLY want a metal reverse lockout. The plastic one is an insult. I'd also rather not shorten the height of the lever too much.

Chris at WC Lathewerks said he won't be working on one so I'm short of vendors I know who are making one. I'd like to know more, care to share?

ayau 10-29-2012 12:29 AM

Revolution. I wish they made one in gunmetal. I also asked WC Lathe and was sad they said it was too complicated or something to that extent

JPxM0Dz 10-31-2012 10:18 AM

Yes, I work for a Subaru Dealership. No, I would assume that my store won't be selling the part until/if well after it arrives stateside.

The current conversion is as follows:

39,900.00 JPY = 499.593 USD
Japanese Yen ↔ US Dollar

This is a post simply for information and letting the members know that STi has released preliminary info on the part.

Billet Proshop designed their short shift on my car, and i have been driving it since aroun a month and a half, and god i don't want to go back to these stock shifter.

The shift feels more direct, shorter throw while keeping the lenght and mixed with some mt-90 it just goes in like butter.

Can't wait to have new parts available on the car, working with Billet Proshop is a charm and they will take care of you if something happens!!!

Yeah but for $250 more you get a nice shiney STi sticker!

Has anyone picked this up yet? I'm thinking either the B-Proshop or just waiting for kartboy. I honestly just want a black reverse ring that matches a black Duracon/Delrin shift knob.

Latheworks said it would cost too much to develop just the ring, so I've been patiently waiting for someone else to tackle it.

Hush! I just saw his post, but I made my posts first.

BTW, go defend yourself in News & Rumors on NASIOC about your moral disgust with German-engineered cars.

Ah there we go! One ad hominem attack and we're all okay again.

chanomatik 09-17-2013 05:38 PM

Has anyone actually purchased this thing? I'm checking out the Billet Pro Shop one. I want that glossy ring, yo.

switchlanez 02-12-2014 03:30 AM

Anybody order and install this yet? Seems like it comes with a fresh new shift boot, looks identical to the TRD short shifter but the price has gone down to $357, a few dollars cheaper than TRD's $366. Lead time is quite shorter (10-15 days instead of TRD's 45-60 days). Might be a good time for OEM nuts like myself to jump on it:

Dead thread. R.I.P.

chanomatik 02-12-2014 11:39 AM

See what I was saying? STI just seems like a better deal (for once). I got the Mach V black reverse lockout ring, so I'm good for now. I will get a short shifter eventually, though, and most likely considering the STI one.

gMit 01-13-2016 04:19 AM

Do you use the factory reverse lock plate with this? Thinking about pulling the trigger and buying one.

Also, does anyone have instructions on how to install this specific model? I've seen instructions for ones like the kartboy but don't know if they'll apply 100%.

gMit 01-16-2016 01:18 AM

bump

Would love to know the answer to my question above.

jcw99 01-16-2016 01:13 PM

I don't know the answer to your question but suggest you go to the DIY section where you asked a question on Jan 7 and ask there. I don't know how to link yet. Read the whole thread. You may also want to look at DIY info on the Kartboy shifter as some of the installation is similar. I'm hoping Trap63 will chime in as he will be able to help. Good luck!

Yes, you reuse the factory reverse lock plate.

Throw is reduced 4mm in each direction.

There are several short shifter installation videos on Youtube you can follow along with.
