Help, looking for BRZ Fog Lights replacement bulb
 

Need some help here. I am looking for a simple bulb upgrade for my foglights, to make them white.

I am looking at three different types of bulbs on ebay:

Which one of this is a direct fit? Which on of these would be the brightest? The first one describes its Lumens as 300 (compared to 1100 for OEM Halogen). Is it that there is no white light capable of the same output as yellow OEM?

Interested in the results. This is something I planned on addressing in the future.

I saw that, not interested in spending any money in replacing my current fog light housing just looking for a simple bulb replacement.

I bought those second ones - super cheap - five bux shipped. They worked great

Are they bright enough to serve there purpose as fog lights?

Who cares its not like the stock fog lights fulfill their purpose.

Did you guys have to do anything besides replace the bulbs? I've read that some plastic had to be trimmed off in the housing.

I went ahead and ordered #2 from my first post. I looked at Draco-Rex conversion to LED in his car, and saw the plastics that need to be trimmed, it looks to be very basic stuff. When I get them I'll update this thread with exact info.

I believe what you have to trim is a small nub on the bulb mounting plastic, not the housing.

Correct, it's very easy. All you need is a razor blade.

The stock fog lights are horrible. With any bulb you try to do. Trust me, I've tried 3 types.

I second that by doing the Fog Light Conversion. Damn bright now with Hoen Enduro bulbs - despite the $200 conversion cost. :)

I'm extremely happy with the 68 SMD LED lights I got on ebay for $10 (Second ones on the first post). Love the color and they are bright!

stock bulb format is wrong, OE reflectors are fine for toy cars for kids, not for real DOT use, they suck badly

dont waste time with the OE fogs , consider this, I found it from a guy who posted here who used some osram or sylvania (do a search) same product as mine

being a BMW guy, I shop valeo over osram

1-upgrade to a H8 bulb like me, you can run h8 or h11, same socket
2-run PIAA super whites and be done, or any extreme white h8
3-dont be that guy I hate who runs HIDs for fogs. I WILL come up behind you just to blind you back.

my valeo conversion was less than $80 shipped, 15 minutes both sides, add some pigtails from your local napa, oreilly or autozone. done.

I HATE when I'm on the road and see that guy that runs HID's for Fogs. The LED's I got are noticeable but comparable brightness to stock (A little less bright).

Do you have up close pics of your Fogs?

Sadly, the photos in my links are not post fog upgrade

however, you can not tell at all that they were swapped, tho the reflector is a bit bolder when viewed from the front, and the h8 bulb is more substantial.
