GTS Manual 86 - Velocity Orange - New Pics

Hi Guys,

I finally got some happy news!!! Some of you may remember the trouble I had in the past see: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...rder+cancelled however it seems after countless hours and close to 1,000,000 Carsales email alerts I have managed to right all the wrongs!!

I managed to pick up a band new non-demo un-allocated (due to an order being cancelled) GTS Manual in Velocity Orange that is available for immediate delivery. Well . . . . Almost immediate, I'm in Qld and it's coming up from Victoria on the back of a truck so I should have it on the 15th November :D Sooooo happy to finally of got one after so many false starts! :happyanim:

Nice one dude! Good to know it all finally worked out for you.

I myself found a Orange GTS Manual in Victoria which was un-allocated (Nov build) so I know (a bit) about the feeling! :)

Hope all goes well for you from here onwards! :happy0180:

Yes and no depending on how you look at it :)

It was about $1,500 above retail but that was including a cost of $1,320 to get it up here to Qld. Plus it does actually have full tint, paint protect, interior protect etc etc so I was very happy with how it worked out.

Did you try and get a shipping quote yourself?

I paid $950 for shipping door-to-door from Midura to Brisbane using Toll Auto.

spr1nter 11-06-2012 11:52 PM

It's here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better pic's will be taken but for now off to QLD transport!!

Congrats Spr1nter!

nix 11-07-2012 12:08 AM

Congrats dude. How did you end up finding it?

And the more important question do you like the orange? lol. I have passed on two of them so far.

Raz555 11-07-2012 12:45 AM

Congrats. It's funny, you orginally wanted a grey GTS it seems but had to go with an orange. I wanted an orange GTS (ordered June), but as it is looking like my orange would not arrive until april next year, I switched to a grey which should be arriving in Dec..........

benoh 11-07-2012 03:06 AM

I love the orange, I ordered mine in June and have stuck with it, will be getting mine in Dec.

Gratz on getting yours spr1nter

Haha nope! Pic is when it just got off the truck on my end. She is actually really dirty as well although she had a bath tonight :)

Really REALLY happy with the orange and don't regret the colour choice at all as it's really 50 shades of orange depending on the light :D

One question for all you guys who have had delivery. . . Was there a mount or bracket for the rear plate? I have tried to mount the rear plate but there is nothing but two taped holes and the plate sits out directly and rubs on the paint. (See below)

ZZT86 11-07-2012 05:48 AM

Ahhh, so you got it already! Super. If you have any square/rectangular blocks of drilled plastic from old or previous plate covers you could use these to mount the plate, same on my celica in which I applied same method & works a treat, plate is solid and doesn't move or vibrate.

Colour is awesome imo, very interesting & ever changing :w00t:

No bracket came with the cars. Just put some foam on the back of the plate to stop it rubbing or better yet just secure the plate with 3M 1inch x 1inch squares that way(if you have a personalised plate or a NEW personalised plate incoming) you don't have to drill into the plate. Also greatly reduces any chance of vibration and scratching the panel.

Thanks guys all good now pretty much followed the above :)

I always use the little rubber feet for glass tables to ensure that both the plate isn't touching the paint, and reduce vibrations

Looks awesome. The one thing I prefer about the 86 over the BRZ is that colour option.
