Scion Challenge SEMA Daniel Song
Wow, so Daniel Song, who I'm friends with is part of the Scion challenge. Hopefully he'll win! I'm definitely going to SEMA to support him.
Check out his car that he worked on for the challenge. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...07207810_n.jpg |
Moar...
I'm more interested in performance specs, looks nice but those good looks aren't going to matter for shit on the track...
Any pics of the engine bay? |
That sucker looks evil !!
Are those SSR Professors?
looking good, but i dont like the chrome lips, just sayin
Not chrome...polished aluminum
But yeah, looks a little off...just how they come, I think |

Looks nice, wonder if its carbon film or actual carbon parts? Regardless it all flows nicely!! |
Now that looks like a car I could get behind! I was afraid all these cars would end up looking like lame show queens, but I was clearly wrong!

I believe they modified it for the judges so they can win. Not moreso on the track. But this guy Daniel is NO joke. He had TWO NSX's at one point. One was complete downforce, the other was a daily. Had a lambo gallardo, now a GTR as a daily, and a 5 series. |
It looks like my EVO IX car on GT5. Looks really good so far
i love how people build these great cars only to have people put them down with an unneeded comment. I wish your friend the best of luck!
Trust me he could build a straight up race car and he would lose. I know this from experience.
This looks better than the render that Scion was posting on IG and FB.
I don't believe there is only $15k in modifications on these cars.
This is the most modded car out of all 3 of them. I think he has a pretty good chance of winning.
Wow! Hood vent reminds me of GT-R
no way is that only $15k of mods. its a lot more

That supercharger kit must be $5-6k alone. |
The carbon wrap another $3+k. I don't know if I like the APR wing better or the Rocket Bunny one. They both are bad ass.
All in all, I think Daniel has a big chance of winning.
I think you're forgetting that the 15K could all go to parts if they or the shop they're affiliated with do all the labor.
I believe Daniel had 3 months such as the others to work on it. He ordered the parts and worked on it at his home. And I also believe that the 3 people (including Daniel) that were chosen to do the Scion challenge ,have been part of the "game" for a long time where they have their own team/connects to work on the car.
I'm sure they had budgeted their money and planned accordingly. |

Totally badass...Only negative here is that somebody's pulled off that RWB look so well, so soon. :)
He did ome damn good work on this car! Can't wait to see and read about all three of them...
He got 3rd, just what I expected. They said they had adjusted the judging to account for concept and overcome the score sheet issue with the judging, guess not.
Lol wow

I think that the work is on the same level of RWB but not the look. If you have seen any RWB work up close in person, then you'll know what I'm talking about ;) I would have liked his car to win though with the Jon Sibal Design!
