Ha! Confirms my speculation. Almost all Subaru cars short of the STIs have 5x100. Now the question is which aftermarket wheels to put on! =)

KadeS 10-27-2011 03:18 AM

decisions decisions!

not to mention what rubber to put on those rims...

My god, do you work on CSI?

and if you're on an enhancing roll, do think you can do the same on the supposed JDM brochure? lol

coyote 10-27-2011 03:46 AM

What a shame.

All I have in my garage is an 18" set of these in 5x100:

Good find (and squinting) Mr Quik.

quik1987 10-27-2011 03:59 AM

Sigh. Was hoping to interchange wheels between my IS300 and IS250.

O well.

Universal CE28s FTW

Another thing Subaru carried over to this car.

The tC has 5x100, as do a significant number of other makes/models.

Yeah it's not quite like Subaru has a patent on 5x100 hubs :P

Of course, this is Subaru running gear.. soo.. I would have greatly preferred 5x114.3 just for wheel swaps in my case :P

Matador 10-27-2011 09:37 AM

Modern Celicas have always used 5x100

mkivalex 10-27-2011 10:21 AM

5x114 would be so much nicer, What is wheel selection like for 5x100?

oneday 10-27-2011 10:29 AM

Depends on what offsets the FR-S requires, but searching TireRack for 06 WRX applications will likely yield appropriate results.

Spaceywilly 10-27-2011 10:33 AM

nice, I already have 2 sets of 5x100 for my WRX :D

mikey 10-27-2011 10:37 AM

so i guess i wont be able to use my spare STI BBS wheels on this car...

the 2011 tC is now 5x114.3 as well. a "significant number" means nothing to me because it excludes the top 4 japanese sports cars: 370Z, EVO, STI, GT-R. if you're a wheel manufacturer, you make wheels that fit these cars first. 5x100 is crap for wheel choices and offsets. there is no denying this fact. we'll all just hafta deal...

Thanks WoW

so 5x100 w offset of 48? Hey what do you know~ My current wheels have exactly same spec (mabye offfset was 49).
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...5/_IGP0313.jpg
Hm... if that's the case, I might need to buy 16" gold wheels for my car again...

Sorry, should have clarified the years on my tC comment (I actually had no idea the 11+ switched to 5x114).

While there are a lot of cars with 5x114 there are still plenty of wheels made for 5x100...if you can't find something you like you aren't looking in the right places.

No, that's not a fact, it's an opinion.

sorry but its a cold, hard fact that wheel sizes and offsets are more plentiful on 5x114.3 wheels. and im talking about quality wheels, not crap wheels.

Levi 10-27-2011 12:17 PM

I would like Volk CE28, and they are available in 5x100.

Actually, it's opposite. crappy wheel brands have hard time finding different wheel size & offsets. High quality wheels have a ton of different offsets and you can special order to have no bolt holes and custom drill the bolt patterns... while crappy wheels they usually don't have non-drilled wheels

Leeky 10-27-2011 12:44 PM

5X100! Awesome!

I have a spare set of GT4 Alloys with track rubber on them.

So thats great that whether i take the GT4 or the 86 to a track day i can use the same set of wheels/tyres :party0030:

crappy wheels i dont even think about, so im not talking about them. they have no place in an enthusiat forum. the ricer forums are next door :bellyroll: custom or special sizes dont count, because they are obviously custom. commercially available sizes? 5x114.3 has more choice. i cant see how people can disagree with that...

madfast 10-27-2011 12:54 PM

and while we're on the subject, did you guys notice the unusual front calipers on the VLN racecar? maybe they are production pieces because they have been specifically designed to fit under the crappy offsets associated with 5x100 wheels?

Giccin 10-27-2011 12:54 PM

Nub question. 48 inset. Can it be any other inset other than that? Let me cover myself in shame as I ask that question. lol

K, name the brands that don't have much option for 5x100 wheel sets. Enkei PRF1? Volks TE? SSR GT? Cuz all the well known brands have options for 5x100 as much as 5x114.3

LOL don't worry. Yes, you can put other offsets/inset other than 48.
