Carpet Floor Mats???

Ok, so I got my FR-S back in July and I was spending minutes here and there looking for the Carpet Floor Mats, cause mine didn't come with. I found out from the site that this item is standard... So where are mine? I don't want to spend around $300 to buy it outside of Scion. I dropped my contact info to my dealership to find out about it.

I do recall the parts department telling me a few weeks ago that Scion/Toyota had an issue with the company that made those mats... Not sure how true it is, but I want my damned floor mats! LoL.

Anyone know anything about this?

whaap 10-23-2012 02:59 PM

Carpet floor mats (front and rear) are included as standard equipment with the FR-S. All I can suggest is if you don't get satisfaction from the dealer contact corporate. Stay polite but be firm.

Kochinopride 10-23-2012 03:09 PM

absolutely agree. They haven't given me any issues from day one, just didn't know if it was standard or "accessory" either way I'm entitled to floor mats... hooray.

anteater86 10-23-2012 03:27 PM

You're owed floor mats.

I'm not surprised by this at all. Some of these dealers are beyond comprehension.

Kochinopride 10-23-2012 03:32 PM

I just got a call from the parts manager (or something of that area) and she was very professional and told me that she will speak to the sales person I dealt with which is in tomorrow and will get back to me right away. I'll see how this turns around. I don't expect this to be a bad experience, everyone was professional and informative at this dealership, but then again... I knew everything they knew about the car...

Does Toyota offer any winter/rubber floor mats? I would hate to have my carpet mats get destroyed by road salt :(

My FRS came with both Carpet and rubber floor mats for the front
and just carpet for the back.

Yup, it's standard. It's on the Scion website.

Let's see what happens tomorrow. I have to stop by their shop to have a look at the High Pressure Fuel Pump squeak issue that I saw is on recall (not all FR-S apply). I'll see if I can speak with them in person as well to get something going.

sho220 10-23-2012 06:30 PM

Didn't you notice the lack of floor mats before driving off the lot?

Everything except the fact that floormats are standard...trust me, they KNEW they came with the car because they were in it when the car arrived. Someone deliberately removed them.

I saw a couple fresh FR-S's, they were in the trunk neatly stacked waiting to be put inside the cabin.

Kochinopride 10-23-2012 06:57 PM

not sure to take offense to that or not... I meant specifications of the build... But thanks for your trivial comment.

Was just a friendly jab, you were supposed to laugh and concur. I knew what you meant.

I got 4 piece rubber floor mats for all season for my FRS at Costco for $9.99.

I only used the front ones because the rear leg room (non existant) is too tight to fit anything else in besides the tiny carpet mat. I don't plan on transporting anybody in the rear anyways.

But, yes the OP is due some standard FRS carpet mats.

Kochinopride 10-24-2012 12:38 PM

I called the dealership to follow up. Sales person said I need to check online for options. I said its not an option - it's standard. He said he'll call me back in a few. He has to verify. I wonder how this'll turn out...

Dealer called me back. Apologized for the confusion on his part and told me to come pick up the carpets. Awesome!

Your lucky. Normally you sign a statement that they owe you nothing or only what's listed on the paperwork.
They should have been in the car, but I agree, weird you didn't notice you didn't have any floor mats.

Oh I always knew I didn't have floor mats. It's a long story, but to sum it up - he said they were optional, I never double checked, when I wanted to buy it the parts department said that the vendor that makes them had issues with Toyota/Scion so that's on pause and then I just sorta randomly checked online and saw it said standard. The salesman admitted he mistook the trunk mat for floor mats and thought it was optional. I swung by, grabbed my carpets and showed a few of the salesmen what was done with the car... was a good day except for the service shop that blamed my chirping and ticks on the Light Weight Pulley...
