Common problem?

i feel hot everytime i seat in side my BRZ,especially, driving in local where there is less wind blowing in.Does anybody has the same feels?is this common for either BRZ or FRS?If so,what could be the cause.i m thinking may be it's because of the tube that's coming from the intake?thx

sho220 10-22-2012 11:11 PM

There's also a tube that runs from the exhaust into the cabin. Check that as well.

BRZ NA 10-22-2012 11:40 PM

don't like A/C on becasue will loose performance and eat more gas.

no mine is premium.no heater seat.

itsibarra 10-22-2012 11:44 PM

I think there's a thread about this in here.. There's warm air from the engine bay coming inside the cabin. Even with all vents closed and/or outside air circulating on coolest setting, I feel the heat as well.

I'm used to it now i guess, but i usually have my windows always cracked open.

If you're worried about those Camry's at stop lights, stop worrying. Having the A/C off won't help. And not sweating trumps the tiny bit of gas mileage you'll lose...unless you just like sweating...

Wow. I get the idea you don't care how much fuel you might burn as long as you get the ultimate performance but you're not willing to spend that very small amount required to run the a/c for your own comfort!

WolfsFang 10-23-2012 12:11 AM

hit the button that recircs air and the problem will stop.

i always feels pretty hot in this car too. its gotta be the size of it and the small sleek window design plus its lacking a sunroof. you just gotta man up and use the a/c TBH idk what kind of performance your talking about last time i checked this car is slow as t.i.t.s.s.s.sss

njccmd2002 10-23-2012 04:01 AM

Open the windows? :bonk:

czar07 10-23-2012 04:17 AM

i never feel hot in the car. its always a little bit too cold in there tbh

ToxicSneakers 10-23-2012 04:45 AM

Close the dash vents and turn fan to "0".

Ingen 10-23-2012 07:49 AM

You're warm b/c of the excitement of driving such an awesome car making your heart race!

Yeah, I don't really have the answer. I have noticed it too, but it beats the heck out of being ice cold all the time - kick the AC on if you want, I haven't really noticed it taking any performance or MPG. Don't believe me? Set your dash display to instant MPG and set the cruise, then turn on AC and see if it changes anything.

jarviz 10-23-2012 08:29 AM

The first few times I drove it, I thought that the leg cabin area got extremely warm. I wasn't sure it was coming from but it felt like heat was coming through the wall panels next to the transmission/engine area.

It eventually went away one its own though. How many miles do you have on your caR?

WhiteFR-S 10-23-2012 08:46 AM

Girls tell me I'm hot in it.....

CaptainSlow 10-23-2012 08:46 AM

The sun? Black interior will heat up really quick.

SPEEDGOD 10-23-2012 11:06 AM

ya if you want performance, remove the back seats, remove the passenger front seat, and put on a HELMET because you're a RACER!

But for me, I'm just going to enjoy the ride in legal limits lol

diirk 10-23-2012 11:18 AM

A/C FTW

BRZ NA 10-23-2012 12:20 PM

Come on now,I meant loose some of the power.i know this is not a powerful car but because of that I want to get the least power out of it.anyway, thx for posting.i guess just turn on the a/c or have the windows open.

CaptainSlow 10-23-2012 01:06 PM

lose =/= loose

"If your sister intends to lose her virginity before she is 15, then she will probably be loose by the time she's 30"

But yeah, sometimes you just have to do what's necessary...turn on the A/C or open a window. If you're really concerned, look into getting a lighter crank pulley to offset the parasitic drag of the A/C being engaged

NOHOME 10-23-2012 02:58 PM

My other car is an MGB GT. The MG is a lot like driving a pizza oven. Only hotter. So, no, I have not felt anything.

Not sure I CAN feel anything after 32 years of MG driving!http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...Shit/large.jpg

If you dont like it then deal with it. Thats what the AC is for. It doesnst kill your gas and performance that much. Keep the Max AC off if anything and use the regular AC.

russv 10-23-2012 07:15 PM

Turn the A/C on for a minute or two to cool the vents. It should work.

JLMtm 10-24-2012 12:47 AM

I thought it was just the black interior that reflects the sun heat?

mike18 10-24-2012 01:28 AM

what's with people telling him to turn on the AC ??? you guys dont think he knows how to use the AC ? he's saying that he gets hot air thru the vent (even with cool outside temperature, probably). It's a problem that Subaru needs to fix if it affects many car and i believe it is.

So he doesnt like to turn it on because of loss of power/gas. Big deal. Make sure the air is on the recycled option also.

SUB-FT86 10-24-2012 05:40 AM

I know where he is coming from pertaining the loss of power. On my RSX which is also a 2.0L engine the power sucks ass without the A/C being on and then with the A/C is on it feels almost unbearable. I would highly assume the same runs true for the FRS/BRZ since it already isn't torquey and comes with a dip in the torqueband unlike my RSX. The one thing I love about 6 and 8 cylinders is even with the A/C on it doesn't feel different in power in my experiences.

SUB-FT86 10-26-2012 03:29 PM

I also would hate to drive the BRZ/FRS with me and 3 individuals and the A/C on. I tried that in my RSX and I wanted to jump out of the car and let it run into a wall and blow up. That's how angry it makes me feel. It's also the reason I have a fear of buying another N/A 2.0L or smaller engined vehicle.

Brett 10-27-2012 11:27 PM

If you flip it to recirculate inside air, then hot air doesn't come out of the vents with the fan off.

Do you mean like, you feel Hot air coming in?
or
How even if you have the window open, you still fee hot air coming in?

JohnS_Rosamond 10-28-2012 05:25 PM

In the Mazda Miata, the blend door does not close all the way (as it should) and it lets in hot air from the heater core. This may also be happening in the Twins. On the Mazda, there is a 5 minute fix since it has a mechanical actuator that you can adjust. Since I do not have a FRS/BRZ yet I have not had the chance to take a look at this.
