Your Childhood dream car.

Lets make a thread about the car that got you into cars! Post a picture of the first love you ever had.

Thats right, I would watch this movie non-stop when I was very young (probably 3, ish).

its the car that started it all for me.

http://img.auto.cz/blog/blogs.dir/29...testarossa.jpg

This was the first REAL car I salivated over. One day I'll have one, oh yes...

Well, if the itch started happening after childhood, then thats fine.

Its mainly just to show what car(s) in particular made you a car-nut.

I could even throw http://image.automotive.com/f/exotic...r-rightjpg.jpg

Into the mix for myself. Even though I'm not from the south, when I was a kid, I would watch the Dukes of Hazzard all the time, just because of this car. In essence I suppose the General Lee is what started it all, but I didn't actually like the car so much as I liked the idea of cars (I was like 2 when this was happening). Ergo, I give credit to the Delorean from BttF and the Testarossa.

BMW M3 E30 EVO: I remember my dad talking about this car since I can remember, back in the early 90's i was watching this DTM and they talk about memorable race cars and the number 1 was the BMW M3 E30 evo
http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d.../bmw_e30m3.jpg

Toyota Trueno AE86 GTV: I known this car back in the early 90's but didn't know in US they are called corolla GTS till my bestfriend (who is Japanese) told me the corolla GTS are same except for the bumpers. I really love the look of KT's AE86 so I made it to a point it will be close to his car, got one of my dream cars so next is the E30.

lets correct that, this is a Panda Trueno AE86, two tone black and white, the one you posted is just a white AE86 w/ a black hood and a black side skirts, a lot of people mistaken that on my car also.

haha, beat me too it!

I would love to state that the AE86 was a childhood dream car, but it wasn't. I didn't really know about the AE86 until I linked together the Sprinter Trueno in Gran Turismo (first one) with my aunts 1987 GT-S coupe I rode in a few times, so, bout 1998.
i can, however, state that I honestly do own one of my dream cars. That being the AE86.

The car that got you into cars?

I think, I have 4 of em...

1. My dad's Nissan Skyline ken & Mary Edi. (in the pic is my mom). Dad always tell me a story bout how he raced in Wangan Highway.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...05/skyline.jpg

2. Skyline GT-R R32. This is my uncle's (2~3rd R32). His first R32 was just insane and I remember when I was young, I cried every time I rode in his car.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...5/GTR32-02.jpg

3. Toyota Supra MkIV. I always wanted Supra 1st~4th gen... but 4th gen the most. Chassis design, Engine, everything was just awesome.
http://aclassblog.files.wordpress.co.../12/001ir5.jpg

4. Subaru Impreza WRX STi (GC8). When I was learnin' bout Supra MkIV, I learn bout Rally World and Colin McRae's 555 STi. It was just jaw droppin' driving skill. Also felt in love with Impreza design.

I would do unspeakable, shameful things to have a car like that.

P.S.: Your mom is hot.

Porsche 911 (930) Turbo... I had posters on my wall of this car. For some reason, I liked this more than Lamborghini Countach at the time...

#87 02-03-2010 05:38 PM

I used to want a Hummer. That was when I thought they were the same ones the military uses. I guess I would still rock an H1 but I had no idea you had to buy tires, fuel, oil, etc for cars when I had this dream :iono: Plus I didn't know about sports cars or what HANDLING was lol

As a child, the 2 cars that started it all for me:

http://f.imagehost.org/0361/general-lee.jpg
http://f.imagehost.org/0503/KITT2000KNIGHTRIDER6.jpg

The General Lee, and Kit 2000. It's also because of these cars that to this day I still believe a car should be driven. I've never been into that trailer queen shit (no offense to anyone here who owns a show car).

Hell yeah Jordo, the "last of the V8s" is a cool ass car too.

RWDJunkie 02-12-2010 06:50 PM

^^^ Oh hell yeah! Big Foot was like a God to me. Well, not literally of course, but you get the idea. Then I discovered Grave Digger a few years later.

Just as the OP said, this is another car I wanted really badly as a child: 1981 Delorean
Of course, as a kid I wanted it with all the silly movie dressings on it.
http://i.imagehost.org/0910/aa_1981_delorean_dmc_12.jpg

Also had a thing for the 1972 Ferrari 365 from the Gumball Rally. They drove the hell out of that car in that movie. Loved it.

Yeah, I was into things like taking apart dishwashers and stuff when I was a kid.. I didn't really play with hot wheels too much.
