First shoot with the new KW Variant 3's and of course a new set of wheels again

Just got our KW V3's installed and had to do a new shoot...but of course we decided to mount a new set of wheels on the car along with it (18x8.5 +44 F / 18x9.5 +44 R Rota DPT)

Also our first official shoot with the new painted taillights (from RJ's paint shop in Pleasanton, CA) and our new Stivo trunk spoiler.

It feels like a whole new car with the new suspension.

The taillights are probably my favorite thing i've done as far as looks, night and day difference, the spoiler is a pretty nice touch too in my opinion.

What do you guys think?

That's a normal price for a set of quality coil-overs. The street price is more like $2k, FYI.

My impressions? You sure do like Rotas... lol. Looks fresh!

Yeah that I know but just pointing out that

$2k+ to make your whip lower is a lot.. should have gotten bigger tips :bellyroll:

I've had 5 sets of coilovers on various different cars and it's just not the same

The ride quality and the handling that comes from the V3 is pretty much unmatched (compared to other ones i've tried)

I've tried HKS Hipermax, Megan, BC, Tein, and bilstein's.

Out of all those, I definitely like the KW V3's the most...I had them on my 335i for the full 4 years I owned it and everyone who rode in it said that it feels just like stock

Everyone who drove it said it handles amazing.

I definitely agree with them, at least of the ones i've tried they are the best.

Wow I frickin love this look, especially since my BRZ is gonna be white. Love the low key spoiler and the painted tail lights. I'll have to check out that paint shop (since I'm right by Pleasanton) once I get my car.

I don't like that the wheels are CE28N forgeries, but that fitment is just about perfect .. possibly the best fitting set of wheels I've seen thus far on this forum.

They just look like they need more rubber. I know it's a fashion thing, but why cop the weight penalty of wide wheels if you are still going to fit skinny tyres?

ModBargains 10-18-2012 08:23 PM

Looking great!

I have wider tires I'm putting on for SEMA, but this is what we had laying around so we used this

I can easily throw 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear, but I just don't have them laying around

I'm putting RS3's on the car next week, so it will fill up the fender it bit more and they run wider than the average tire.

Could you give specifics on the tail lights? What kind of tint did you use? I think it would look great on my WRB

From the OP he said that they are painted NOT tinted.

Looks very, very nice. Interested to hear if there's any rubbing going on at that height with that offset.

no rubbing at all, this offset works perfect with these tire sizes...and our car is EXTREMELY low and it's still fine.

Is a square setup in 17x9 possible?

Also what is the percentage on your window tint?

Shagaliscious 10-19-2012 07:10 AM

Making me regret not getting whiteout! It is beautiful!

20% rear and 35% front

Curious about the taillights...just wondering what you told the paint shop when you took the lights in? Or what kind of paint they used? I've seen the DIY taillights, and it always seems to come out a bit "matte" or cloudy. Your taillights look crystal clear, so I was just wondering if you had any more info on that in case I wanted to do the same.

Thanks, and car looks great!

Fussy08X 10-19-2012 11:19 AM

Inspiring. Nice work guys, looks fantastic. Each to their own but ppl need to stop painting the tail lights. might look better with stock lights IMO

x2 would like to know more about how you got them done. They look great, better than most of the ones I've seen on here.

I'm moving to Fremont this weekend. I'll have to swing by and let you ride in my car. I've got the RSR isport coils and they also feel amazing.

Car looks good man. Is that the TRD wing?

I'd prefer to not have taillights inspired by the original fast and the furious on the car, in my opinion the stock taillights are the weakest point of the car from the factory.

We're getting a couple last minute touches done to our car before it goes down to Las Vegas for SEMA, so I probably won't have the car back until Thursday, but you're more than welcome to swing by.

It's a wing we're be importing, still cleaning it up but we'll post it up for sale as soon as it's available

Car looks awesome, rear lights are 10/10. Def hitting up my painter buddy for some candy apple action.

How about some shots with a 17x9 +30 square set up?

Cheers.

#87 10-20-2012 04:35 AM

8.5 / 9.5 +45 looks like its going to be the money set up once I get some FI

Nice pics

Nevermore 10-20-2012 08:27 AM

There's something about that last picture that just seems powerful. I'm not sure why, it's just awesome. I like it. If you were trying for something like that, with that sign there on purpose, kudos.
