Are you guys going to run those brakes through the winter with all the salt MD throws down? From what I understood, those brakes are a no-go in salt.

Love it, love the steering wheel, wheels, all of it! How are those LCA bushings from AVO?

NOPE. This baby will be on jack stands getting a MASSIVE turbo .......
....NOT ! JK. I will drive it some but not when the roads are

Nah, a nice 03 Forester with EVO seats will be the winter ride.

Yes I love the AVO bushings. Whiteline hadnt made these yet and while WL is good these were available and Paul Hanson runs the USA division. Paul Hanson is damn near legendary to JDM performance. So I figured if he uses these then they are a solid product.

Tell us more about this steering wheel! It looks great.

F1point4 10-17-2012 09:18 PM

Hey Myles,

Love the RCE on my car so far. You have a good looking car. Looking at your picture, will you confirm this suspension list?

I count:
+ Whiteline Crossmember bushings for rear subframe
+ Whiteline Camber adjustment bushings for Upper A arm
+ Whiteline rear sway bar bushings
+ 2008+ Subaru Rear Lower control arms
+ Coilovers
+ Whiteline front sway bar bushings
+ Some red bushings for the front subframe?
+ Fatter rear swaybar
+ super fat front swaybar 45mm?

Are those the stock rear swaybar endlinks?

Thanks,
Victor

civicdrivr 10-17-2012 09:22 PM

Is it the cusco wheel with suede finish?

RYU 10-17-2012 11:25 PM

Myles/Andrew,

What kind of rear camber adjustment parts are you guys running? From what I see it's only the WL eccentric bushing kit for the upper control arm.

I was only able to dial in -1.7*. Was hoping for -1.5* or less with the RCE yellows.

Stock wheel, covered by JPM Coachworks as I said.

nix 10-17-2012 11:31 PM

Yeah, after looking at it the cusco one is much different.

Looks good!

I'm guessing those lower control arms are adjustable? I sure hope so for what they cost.

$900 retail, JDM only according to their Facebook post. The lateral links appear to be ~$600 + shipping, the rest of the cost must be in the toe links.

Yes we ordered the STI rear control arms.

With the coilovers and GD STi group-n front mounts we were able to get -2.4ish front camber. In the rear I got -1.8 camber.

As for the rear sTI arms......Here is what I see A LOT of: people buy all the various adjustable rear control arms and DONT replace the 4 VERY rubbery flexible bushings in the UPPER rear control arm and yet thats one of the MAIN connecting points for the the rear suspension to the chassis. Its the weakest link. I see post after post and many do it claiming the WL's are hard to adjust. The thing is you get an alignment and thats it.

So yeah the STI arms are pricey but it saves about 5hrs of bushing removal if one were to replace with other bushings. I just chose a different route. My route though has left nothing untouched back there.

I LOVE this wheel. Fit and finish is VERY AMG/ GT3 like in its OEM like NO FLAWS type quality. I literally can NOT find a flaw.

First day I had it my wife drives the car and I woke up late and remembered she puts on a gallon of fruity lotion each morning. I wake up and run down and catch her JUST as she is about to touch the wheel ! It was like a scene in the movies ! She was pissed that she had to get out and wash her hands etc.

JapanParts is carrying it for nearly $600 before shipping. You post on Facebook said something around $900 for everything in the picture, which is perhaps after shipping. Regardless, nice pieces :)

Thanks for the feedback Myles. I've had my RCE Yellows on the stock dampers installed for about 1500 miles now. 500 of the last miles have been after alignment. I opted for your Race Pack Lite kit (OEM front camber bolts + WL Rear Upper Control Arms Eccentric Bushing).

I also had it aligned at West End Alignment. Darin is one of the more popular performance alignment guys here in SoCal.

Some stats to add to the archives. Here are my before and after alignment settings. My goals for this street/occassional_track car is -1.5 camber and 0 toe all around per your recommendation. Caster is whatever it's at...

After Lowering on RCE Yellows from OEM height and OEM alignment: (No driver)
Quote:

Rear
camber Right -2.2, Left -1.7
Toe 0

Front
camber Right -1.7, Left -1.0
toe "close to 0"
After Lowering on RCE Yellows and alignment: (Driver's weight in car)
Quote:

Rear
camber -1.7/-1.7 (was aiming for -1.5 so a bit disappointed here but -1.7 was the max +camber we could achieve)
toe 0

Front
camber -1.4/-1.4 (was also aiming for -1.5 so close enough)
toe 0
I usually like running a bit more front camber so when coilovers arrive next year lowering the ride height should get me a bit more camber. I need to find a better option for the rear though. As I go lower i'd like to dial out more of that neg camber.

Oh, the rear camber bushing install wasn't that bad at all but not something i'd like to do in my garage w/o an air hammer.

Hope this helps some of you folks. The RCE Yellows are quite good.

drew935 10-18-2012 11:21 AM

Sweet setup Myles and doing it right!

For toe, 3mm toe in will be idea for the street.

Grimlock 10-18-2012 11:28 AM

Subscribed. I'm debating about getting the RCE Yellows or just waiting for something like the Tarmac II setup. I'd like to do my suspension over the Winter.

Myles, where did you get your windows tinted? I've been wanting to do 50% on my car but I'm not finding a lot of local recommendations.

There is a local spot that actually had HORRIBLE reviews but I went to them and said " look your reviews suck but you are about a mile from my shop, can I trust you to take care of me?" And they have on my last 3 cars. Good tint, good job and I'll keep going back.

Let me know if you want to use these guys. Just call me.

I'm digging up an old thread, this is the top mount that you've mentioned right? http://www.rallysportdirect.com/STI-...Group-N-Front-
Upper-Strut-Mounts

I'm also looking for an appropriate rear top mount for the struts, btw I'll be installing a kw v3 for my BRZ. my build is in stock hp, looking to daily it and occasional autox. TIA

Link didn't work. But sounds right.

Stock rear top mounts will be fine for your uses. There are some aftermarket options available. Raceseng makes a good set (though I'd avoid the 2 inch lowering mounts unless you want the car really low).

Thanks for replying, I just want it to do a dd + autox build. Not stancing it. which camber bolts would you recommend by the way?
