Rear diff service
How many miles are you guys doing your rear end services at? I am thinking of changing it out at my next oil change at 7500 miles. I will probably do it every 15k after that and will be switching to Motul gear oil.
|
I'm also interested in what people will be using to replace the factory fill. I'm thinking of going with Toyota or Subaru but Motul and others are being considered
|
We changed mine with motul at like 1,700 miles. It was nasty.
|
i changed mine at 1100
|
Just changed mine at 1800 with Motul.
|
Isnt the factory recommendation 30,000 miles?

Anyone place a magnet in the old oil and find any metal filings?

Redline 75w-85 would be my choice if you want to keep with the OE spec, 75w-90 if you want a bit more bite in the lsd or 80w-140 of you're taking it on the track. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...89061659_n.jpg |

07+ STI = Gear 300 or Gear 300 LS |
We changed our diff fluid at 500 miles, and look at what came out.
Amsoil Severe Gear / Redline Gear oil / Motul Gear oil As long as GL5 synthetic, it will work well with our Torsen rear diff. http://www.tougefactory.com/ebay/frsdrain4.jpg |
I switched mine out today, had alot of metal particles, used Motul oil from NoLimit...
