Invidia N1

Hey guys,

I'm REALLY REALLY close to getting this exhaust. Anyone here who has it, what is the cabin drone like, is it really loud in there? Any regrets on getting this exhaust? How do you like it?

Thanks in advanced!

Good so far. Not much cabin drone on cruise or idle. Decel and accel are throaty and a smidge loud. The exhaust comes with silencers though, so if it's too loud for you just throw those in. Install is really easy. I have the TI tips and it looks real good too.

Can't right now. At work.

Ny Brz 10-10-2012 04:59 PM

I think it is loud, saw some video clips and thought it wouldn't be that loud. After the install and dyno on the way home i thought to myself, this is loud i'm gonna get pulled over. i want to hear some other exhausts in person...i may swap it out.

Damn this is scaring me a little bit. Do you have the silencer in installed in yours? How much of a difference does the silencer make?

He also didn't mention his car has an intake and tune. The intake would add a little bit of noise. I'd also say, since it's a dyno pull, the silencers are off. FT86speedfactory has more videos of the exhaust. They were also the cheapest I found.

Here's the thread:

I do like the way it sounds but I'm also going to be getting the Airaid intake :/

Ny Brz 10-10-2012 09:31 PM

The exhaust sounds throaty, it's not that annoying fart can sound at all. Maybe I may have to get used to it, haven't had an exhaust since my 02 wrx and it have the apexI gtspec and I loved that exhaust. When my tuner took it out it didn't sound that loud when I was watching him drive off. I'll let the guys at the next meet be the judge.

The Perrin exhaust is pretty quiet, when you go WOT it has nice tone.

JM auto provided me with the exhaust, they were great to work with. Ask for Joe and he will take care of you, they have other exhausts as well.

I'd look to the thread about intake comparos. Apparently they dynoed an AIRAID and it made LESS horsepower and torque.

Guys we have boat loads of videos on this exhaust. And were the first to install one on our FR-S. We have been running it for two weeks now without any issues at all. Even a 6 hour road trip in it.

But it also said on Airaid's install guide that its recommended to remove the snorkel, the snorkel wasn't removed during the testing in that thread.

After sometime with the exhaust I'm used to it. I really like the sound deep sound.

@Style Here's my experience with it

Big shout out to FT-86 SpeedFactory for hosting the group buy and offering amazing pricing!

This exhaust is amazing! The moment I fired up the car after the install I fell in love with my car all over again. This exhaust finally unleashed, pun intended, the sound of that boxer powerplant. There is no drone when cruising, it has a deep throaty aggressive sound during acceleration, and it sounds pure evil when down shifting.

This exhaust is probably too loud for most of the people out there but for me it couldn't get any closer to perfect. I love it. If invidia releases a front pipe/over pipe I am definitely purchasing both.

Go to my journal to see pics of the exhaust and install.

Honestly, would cops give me crap for this exhaust? I'm coming from a 1992 camry 335,000 miles. So I wouldn't know with my brand new FR-S. Any tips? Just go on cruise? Do I not go past 2500 RPM so the cop won't hear the noise? Let me know. Thanks!

I have driven next to cops on several occasions, both while cruising on the highway, accelerating with traffic, and down shifting. I was a little nervous at first but no cop has bothered me at all and they are pretty strict in Las Vegas. If you come upon a cop and get nervous, upshift into a higher gear and that will drop the RPM's, DO NOT just simply let out of the throttle as this exhaust is very loud when deccelerating lol.

Has anybody dyno'd this exhaust yet to see if its making any gains? I'm so close to buying, but I want to make sure it is functional along with its amazing sound.

BOY! I installed it last night and man is it loud! I love it!! I'm going to installed the silencers this weekend though. I don't want to risk it with the cops, and hopefully it will get rid of the cabin drone as well.

VSGTS14 10-16-2012 02:27 PM

so far, i'm liking it. i love invidia products.

BadCompany235 10-16-2012 02:41 PM

Only issue I have is the silencers do not fit. Other than that it's loud but I would guess 96DB wot. We'll see.

FT-86 SpeedFactory 10-16-2012 04:35 PM

We will have Dyno Video tomorrow night of the Invidia N1 catback and of the cat back + Invidia catless front pipe.

Jesse 10-16-2012 05:53 PM

this exhaust is not as loud as the agency power, but NO drone in comparison. best looking and sounding in my opinion yet
