What's everyone's thoughts on personalised plates? Gonna throw some on yours?

QLD is shorthand for Queensland; a state in Australia.

PuGZoR 10-03-2011 11:56 PM

I started this thread in the Australia sub-forum, because the plate systems here are pretty different to everywhere else in the world. It's a different ecosystem too...

So the first three replies are from Americans. *facepalm*

I've already got 2 plates; "UND33" (my name's Andy, haha), and "2 SMOOTH".

Slide 10-04-2011 09:57 AM

lol at the yanks commenting :P

I have VIP47 (for my website...) 47 = JZS147 (Aristo)...

I would want to know the name of the car before i get plates i hope it is just called 86.

farugah 10-04-2011 08:37 PM

I was going to get FT 86 II but then I figured that wouldnt really work...

Type[R]+ 10-07-2011 09:35 PM

I don't really like just car names ect. I always think "What a wanker. Yes, we know WTF car it is mate, there's 16 other badges plastered all over the car...."

Funny plates and plates with a bit of thought are so much better! I've seen a few good ones getting around up here, like KEN OATH. Thought that one was pretty good. Also seen NFNR which was on an old crusty Hilux lol! I've always been a fan of UB6IB9...

celicajim 10-08-2011 07:17 AM

TOBURU ? lol

I've got not quite ZZT-231, mainly cause I wanted a small black and white plate, and I figured most people wouldn't know it or remember it.

Any ideas what the model code of the production car could be? ZZR-286 ? FAA86 ?
Engine code - FA20-GE? FB20-GE ? 2FA-GE

coyote 10-21-2011 06:12 PM

That'll look good.

Mine will be 00 SUB.

tran 10-27-2011 10:28 PM

nice plates pugzor. very jelly.

tran 10-27-2011 10:29 PM

i'm reluctant to get plates with "86" because i was born in 87 ... but "FT-87" would look stupid huh?

PuGZoR 10-27-2011 10:44 PM

See, I was born in '86. Wish my initials were FT haha.

Slide 10-28-2011 07:57 AM

Ahaha just read u have an aristo as well n live in bris!

Nice place can't wait to have a meet.

PuGZoR 10-28-2011 07:37 PM

Did have an Aristo (really need to change my status), but it got written off by a stupid taxi. :( Bastard rear-ended me for no good reason!

At the moment I've got a shitty Mazda Tribute, which I'm thinking of getting rid of for a Caldina. Have a kid + 2x big dogs, kind of need a wagoon. Well, until the FT86 comes along, then the missus gets it and I get a fun car again.

N0T0FU4U :happy0180:

Gir 11-24-2011 07:34 PM

Either going to stick with the plates that come on it, or go for GIR087 (was born in 1987). Not a fan of telling people what the car is on the number plate (that's what the badge is for).

Slide 11-29-2011 02:02 AM

not me.

i was gonna get TGT86 on Saturday (after the UK release) but i got another plate instead.....

i have a feeling it would be bought by one of those AE86 owners.

PuGZoR 11-29-2011 03:14 AM

Heh, AE86 owners would have already taken a lot of plates with 86 in them. Gotta remember that personalised plates are right up the alley of those born in 1986 too.

Slide 11-29-2011 03:16 AM

Well I just got the best ones in Brisbane !!! "MY86"

http://86-club.com/forums/uploads/mo...1322554941.png

Happy to sell for $2000 :P

PuGZoR 11-29-2011 03:35 AM

Hah, that's wicked.

You know what would be cool? Group photo with all the custom plates, once/if we manage to get one. (Yeah, those limited production rumours have got me a bit worried now)

Enough friggen Brisbanites here that we could have a pretty impressive pic going on.

And yes i vote for this too!!!

The limited number thing is kinda crap hope its all BS!

And i can't believe you have an Aristo as well pretty damn funny!

celicajim 12-04-2011 05:11 PM

Toyota's Engine Code is : 4U-GSE

Might look a little like 'AUGSE' on a plate tho?
Just checked the Vic '4UGSE' plate is available.

PuGZoR 12-04-2011 09:48 PM

Good plate on the cheap, if you can get it, would be 14YEW, haha. Get it? One 4U?

Slide 01-08-2012 06:10 PM

crouchy35 01-09-2012 12:22 AM

Varvs 01-11-2012 09:55 PM

The front of the Toyota is going to be marred by aussie plates I fear :( although I think nowadays they have smaller stick on ones for cars with limited space?
