Does anyone have pics of FR-s Lowered with stock wheels and and fatter tires?>
Is anyone running the stock wheels with lowering springs on a better sized tire?
I cant decide on t rims there so many choices I figure I would wait til after christmas and winter and in the mean time just do tires and springs if I have idea if the OEM wheels would look good dropped with say a 40 tire |
Whats your definition of flatter/better tires?
|
If you're going to go with a 40 series tire be prepared to have your teeth rattled out of your skull. 45 is the lowest I'd go for something I'd "daily drive." My favorite set up is 225/45/17. I may consider going to 18's.
People seem to forget 18" and up cost more, not to mention, upsizing could weigh more . (not always, but it will costs you) Good luck! |
I was thinking a little bit taller tire when I said fatter. I guess my question would be what would be the best tire size besides the 215/45/17 that is still going to look good and not affect the ride quality. A
Again I was wondering if anyone has lowered the car with the stock wheels on it. I actually like the wheels excpet for the fact that they are only 7 inches wide. I had another question about spacers and people told me to stay away from them I was going to use them so the rear tires would sit almost flush with the fenders I dont like how they are tucked under. I am not very familiar when it comes to specs of wheels tires etc sorry if some people think this is a dumb question |

I like these wheel and another set that Niche makes its there racing wheel line but I am not even sure what bolt patey tern I need. Not to mention thats a pretty good price for 18's if they will work on the FRS http://www.performanceplustire.com/b...lack?size=18x8 Here is another set I like but again I am ignorant to bolt patterns offsets etc. My biggest thing is I want the rear wheel to atleast sit almost flush or just a tiny poke in the rear but still be able to lower the car with the Eibachs |
can someone point me in the right direction here on the best looking set up with those wheels I posted a link to as far as front and rear offest, bolt pattern etc
|
I decided to go with a simple 17x8 with a 245/40/17 size tire. It offers a good amount of tires and brings the wheel out a bit so it doesn't look funny. I understand keeping your factory wheels for a bit, but if that's the case don't worry about tires until you find the right wheel for you. 245 might be the widest you want. I have seen many with that size on 17x9 wheels.

The links that I posted with the 18*8 for 115 I would buy if I knew which offset and bolt pattern to go with. They are priced right and what have I been looking for I just found them this morning. The next step after deciding on these wheels is the tires which is another thing Ito l need some help with because I am going to lower the car with eibrah lowering springs

That leaves +40 the only choice for the wheel in the first link, and +35 or +42 for the wheel in the second. If you read the thread I linked it will tell you what offsets are best for whatever look you are trying to achieve. A 225/40/18 or similar tire will work. |

These are the wheels I am going to order as soon as I get paid.
I know I am off topic now but I mentioned the Eibach lowering springs I found a couple other threads with guys who used Eibachs lowering kit. Does the kit come with everything need as far as supporting mods go like for the camber ? What else sh0ould be purchased along with the springs for the best ride when I order them? |
The pick of the wheel in this picture is the second link. my options are +35 +40 +42.
I didnt see a link you posted. I will try and hunt down the thread . Thanks for any info you guys can give me |

Mrqb22 when Ground Control lowered my car they informed me that you cant use wider tires cus the lip thats on the front shocks where the spring sit will tear up your tires.. you need to put spacers on the front wheels to clear that issue.. check the picture so you can understand what i mean..
