Full Blown 521hp Stock Motor @ 20psi

We just got off the dyno with our FRS. This is our Stage 1 with a bigger turbo. Our kit is designed to run anything from a Gt28, Gt30, Gt35r. We decided to skip the 30r and get get straight to business with the GTX35R.

This kit is still in the prototype stages and will likely be our stage 3 with upgraded intercooler, bigger injectors and so on.

Our Stage 2 will consist of the Gtx30r. We have gathered enough data from this project that we can now start building those kits for those who wish for big power.

Surprisingly the stock motor is holding up for now. We are working on a built motor for when this one fails. I am very impressed with it in stock form.

Here's the setup

FBM BRZ/FRS Stage 1

- FBM EL Turbo manifold
- Garrett GTX35r with Tial V-band housing
- FBM Aluminum intercooler Piping with couplers
- FBM 3" V-band Downpipe
- FBM 550hp Intercooler
- FBM Intake Pipe
- FBM Dump tube
- Tial 50mm BOV
- Tial 44mm Wastegate
- FBM 1000cc injectors
- FBM 270LPH Pump
- FBM Dual slim fans
- Clutch masters FX400

kidgogeta 10-07-2012 07:33 PM

What can we expect quarter mile? Somewhere in 10s?

Surok 10-07-2012 07:34 PM

Too bad the tracks are all closed here. I can see this running 10's when it's dialed in. We still have stock suspension and tires on the car lol

Kimsey47 10-07-2012 07:40 PM

Love to see what this kit would do to our Prius tires (tyres for our proper English brethren)! :)

2700lbs and 520 wheel is a recipe for low 10's. If you can 60 foot in the 1.6 range.

What fuel? E85?

Surok 10-07-2012 08:17 PM

RacerX! what will you make for us?

loved your control arms for the MR2. loved your manifold too :D

JoeBoxer 10-07-2012 08:19 PM

Wow, although the AVO kit is more what i'm looking for i am very impressed that you tripled the crank hp of the engine with a turbo and no internal work.

So this is a blow through setup, hows the tuning being done? I'm guessing map sensor?

Calum 10-07-2012 08:34 PM

fucking insane!

MVJ1975 10-07-2012 08:37 PM

Holy crap. That's awesome!

lopro25 10-07-2012 08:44 PM

And people thought AP was pushing the limits of this engine...the fact that this engine held that much power just once is amazing. I doubt we will see this particular block much longer though. It is headed to the great junkyard in the sky. Bravo and thank you for testing the limits of the FA20

Will you be keeping it filterless? Or just put a filter directly ontop the inlet of the turbo?

It seems as if the intercooler may be the next limiting factor, as you've already bypassed its horsepower limits by a bit.

DriftEightSix 10-07-2012 08:51 PM

How many pass has this done with this much power!?

How long will it last!?

Would love to see a street run of this thing!!!

Amazing result.

Car has over 150 dyno runs from testing a bunch of stuff. I would say roughly..

50 runs @ 250-300hp
50 @ 300-380hp
30 @ 420-450hp
20 @ 480 - 520hp

This is just a guesstimate but, we haven't been nice to this car that's for sure.

Filter will be going on the turbo. This Intercooler can do 550 on E85 for sure.

Very impressed!

Tansey86 10-07-2012 09:08 PM

As long as the intercooler fills the entire opening, im good with it!

Any details on how you guys plan to do this build? Head/cam work? Compression ratio you will use?

ahausheer 10-07-2012 09:11 PM

Is it safe to say this engine was designed to take FI from the get go?

lopro25 10-07-2012 09:13 PM

That'd really point toward Toyota/ Subaru's plans for the engine...no turbo my ass

The heads seem very efficient so far. We are going to keep the compression around 9.5-10:1

_F-R-S_ 10-07-2012 09:25 PM

hMm 150 dyno runs and its still holding up..
