Bluebatmobile tail overlays
So on my first shot of applying these I managed to do a good job with the dreaded curves but I ended up messing up the top flat part of the lamps. I contacted Andy (bluebat) and we worked out a deal for a replacement set of overlays.
Got them the other day and applied them today with...some more experience. I'm very happy with the results. For $43 I really can't think of a better way to modify your BRZ/FRS. Andy was really awesome to work with and he even gave me his cell so we could keep in touch better. How many vendors would do that? http://i.imgur.com/gCjVL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/73vul.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PDhD9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sntNt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lJktk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NWZ6r.jpg The overlays were applied with soapy water so there is still slight visible residue below the film just like when you have your car tinted. Waiting for it to dry out before I actually pull out a real camera for pictures, until then I got a reason to play with my new iPhone. What do you think guys? |
did you remove the tail lights prior to install?
|
i like it! those were the same kind i was thinking of getting with the blinker cutouts.
can you post some pics with the lights on? i'd like to see if the individual lights are distinctive or if the vinyl blends the output. |
looks really good ... did you use the 1-piece or 2-piece kit? I am inclined to do the 2-piece if it's easier and more forgiving.

Oops sorry I never saw this. Shades of Gray Tint of feasterville PA. Great shop, great employees. http://www.shadesofgraytint.com/ Quote:
For people weary of installing that may have never worked with vinyl before, try vinyling your interior plastics as practice and then do the tails. It's really not that bad. Just use a nice heat source and stretch that vinyl. |

was it hard to get around the corners? i noticed this car has a huge turn in the headlight. where most cars like a wrx are flat..
|
applying heat is the key to making the vinyl pliable for the bends and corners ;).
