looks sweet, i am in the process of ordering the same wheels. did you have to do any negative camber? do you have any suspension mods?

yomny 10-05-2012 11:05 PM

No camber added, the car is running stock alignment specs. I do have fortune auto coil overs with adjusttable pillowball mounts and rear cusco lower control arms but no need to adjust anything. I really recommend them, i've gotten many compliments in the past couple of days. Perfect fitment, no rubbing or scraping even under hard cornering.

yomny 10-06-2012 01:43 PM

Glad to help, I was thinking of droppijg the rear maybe another 1/8 or so but im not sure, the car rides incredible without any rubbing issues.

Can you clarify, is that +35 offset in front and +40 in back, or the other way around?

any problem with sensors?

yomny 10-11-2012 09:34 PM

Actually i have a story about that. I got the sensors from speed depot where i got the wheels and although they were fine they don't come matched to the car's ecu. The dealer wanted to charge me 300 to dismount the tires, get the sensor serial, remount and re program the ecu to read the new sensors. My solution, took it to a local shop and had them remove the oem sensors(matched to ecu already) from the stock wheels and install them on my new wheels. Put the new sensors back into my oem wheels. So just install your oem sensors, it'll be cheaper than the dealer, unless your dealer doesn't have thieves working there and could reprogram your ecu to the new sensors for less.

You have apparently deleted or renamed your pictures. Since this thread is linked to Darren's sticky can you please put them back?

yomny 11-02-2012 06:39 PM

Photobucket is acting dumb and chaing their main page to a "better one" and screwed up all my links. Should be up.

you can just copy paste the images, you don't need photo bucket anymore.
can you post images of the fender shot showing the offset.

deucethemoose 11-04-2012 10:57 AM

^ x2

A shot down the side showing how flush the front and rear are would be helpful.

yomny 11-04-2012 11:00 AM

This is all under oem alignment specs.

these look nice!

ScionFR-S 11-07-2012 11:22 PM

your sure your not dropped even an inch on the car?! it looks so sick and i want the same setup but the matte black color , if the car looks like that without any drop then im good money !

Kochinopride 11-08-2012 09:16 PM

Just bought my set of wheels. Same sizes as the OP, but Matte Black! With Tall Red Lug Nuts! Gonna match my Red BBK next year! Time to shop for tires now!

yomny 11-09-2012 08:42 AM

The car is dropped, about 1.25" front and slightly less on the rear. The alignment is oem specs because i got adjustable lower control arms in order to adjust camber on the rear, the coilovers have a camber adjustable upper mount so that took care of the necessary adjustments to get everything to spec.

ScionFR-S 11-09-2012 12:21 PM

what coilovers did you get, and how much ? you thing a 1 inch drop with springs would be just as good? im not looking to track my car just looking for the appearance, with a 1 inch drop and the same tires as you and wheels would there be a problem with rubbing and fitment?

sevi21 11-09-2012 12:37 PM

Diggin these wheels man, like the concave alot!

I think 1" would be just fine. I lowered more because im into the flush look, but my rear is dropped about 1" exactly and it looks pretty flush. As far as the handling, i really think you should stick to springs if you don't track the car or anything of that nature. I have fortune auto coilovers and i really like the way the car drives, very quite, smooth and stiff enough for the road(at full soft setting) but really stiff and aggressive if you need it at the track. The fortune autos ran be about 1500, with all the upgrades(roller bearings, rear extenders, swift springs...) You wont rub with the same setup, i dont rub and i'm a little bit lower. I dont mean not rubbing around town driving, i dont rub even under really hard cornering forces.

Kochinopride 11-09-2012 02:41 PM

Do you have the TPMS installed? I fear of not having that done and I might have the dreaded pressure light... educate me! lol

yomny 11-10-2012 08:36 PM

I do have tps installed, i just took both sets of wheels to a local trusted shop and had them install my tps from my oem wheels to my new wheels. The reason i did that was because a lot cheaper than getting new tps sensors and having to go to the dealer to reset them and match them to my ecu, my dealer quoted me 300+dollars and the local swap was $100 and everything worked like a charm, the car never knew he got new wheels.

Finally got my wheels! Tires (Dunlop Direzza DZ101) coming in on Monday. Can't wait to slap all of this together!

Specs
18x8.5 - 225/40-18
18x9.5 - 265/35-18

Can't Wait!!

Unfortunately I'll be going to AUS next week (after Thanksgiving with the family) and I won't get to break these bad boys in as much as I want to cause the car will be at Prime Motoring in East Rutherford, NJ getting the P&L Turbocharger kit installed for 400rwhp!!! :happyanim:

JoeBoxer 11-15-2012 06:38 PM

Looks good, them 265's should help you hook up with the turbo kit...

Kochinopride 11-15-2012 06:40 PM

Yes! Awesome! I can't wait... Got the red lug nuts to match the red BBK I'll be getting Q1 of 2013.

I just realized... Do I need anything extra for the Lug Nuts? I should be good to go with what's in the pic right? Nothing needed to be modified on the wheel hub...?

New wheels and tires with Eibach Sportlines, Miro 111

Just got my new wheels and tires. Like the look a lot, but still too much gap. Ordered some eibach sportlines and plan to put on this weekend. Sure hope they fit with these wheels and tires....Any thoughts? Also need to order some black lug nuts.

Jayde 11-28-2012 07:17 PM

I like the wheels, but the tires just seem to wide imo. Maybe if it was a little lower. I'm curious, but, why the thinner sidewall tires on the rear?

Gixxersixxerman 11-28-2012 07:19 PM

I'm the opposite of jayde... I think the tires should be wider then the rims.. I like the fact you didn't stretch yours.. Good job
