hey guys i want to know if any of you know a good reliable shop to go to for aftermarket installations? like to install coilovers, exhaust, etc... i live in Queens, NY so anyone know of any shops or how to locate a shop?

What are you looking to install in particular? Our shop is located in Oceanside (about a half hour from Queens). I commute out here from Queens everyday. Check out some of our work on our FB page:

We are located in NJ, while not in Queens, it's probably an hour away. We have been working on Subies for 11+ years and have been road racing and instructing on track for 10+ years. Tyrol Sport in Ridgewood. Awesome place, I did a lot of work on my Volkswagen there.

Definitely a good shop. Previously known as MSPT (Metric Subaru Performance Tuning) and run by the same guy who runs Metric Subaru in Huntington. A good mod-friendly dealer if you need one.

+1 They were the only guys who worked on my GTI and I'm planning to take my brz there as well. Highly recommended.

I'm also looking for a place in Queens. I live in Ridgewood, so the closer the better.

Just called Tyrol Sport about a catback exhaust installation on my BRZ and the guy (Mike) didn't seem too fond of the idea, but after I asked him if he knows any other shops that would do it, he said:

i actually went to SpeedWorld on Queens BLVD but they don't really do much engine work but bolt ons they do no problem… Prime Motorsports just contacted me but i hate that GWB toll lmao maybe if they can do us a good deal like free installation or something its def worth it since they have experience

Bringing this thread back to life because...well I need a shop to call as a third home. Basically, i'd like to call it my go-to shop for everything I need. I live in Queens, NY, so any help is appreciated.

If you don't mind coming out to NJ, you can make it out to us in about 45 min during non-rush hour traffic. We've been serving the tristate for 14+ years specifically on Subies and are also die-hard enthusiasts. We don't suggest anything for your car we haven't tried ourselves on our street and/or track cars or don't have intimate knowledge and details of how the product works.

If you need to stay on the Island, go see Dave Brown out at PAS, he's been in this business longer than we have and is also a great resource.

Real Auto Dynamics in ocean side does some pretty good work and has a friendly staff. They will be installing my turbo shortly

I was looking at them and RCT Performance here in College Point. Anybody with experiences with both would be great.

I'll def check out AZP and Real Auto though.

Ive used Ryan at RCT for 15 years and at least 5 cars...Still go to him for most of my stuff so i would highly rec. him.

That's good to know. I'll be going to him since he's local which is great. I'll be looking to get a bunch of my wheels and tires from there setup, if possible.

How's pricing?

Pricing is on par with the market, cant remember exactly what I paid to have my tpms swapped and my tires mounted but it was very fair.

I also live in Ridgewood as well. I am getting most of my work done at my buddy's shop in Queens Village, Simplicity Auto. The address is 216-25 Hempstead Ave. Queens Village, NY 11429.

They have worked on a few FRS's in the past and are currently working two other ones at the moment, mine and another guy's frs. I know they did a turbo setup already in a FRS already.
