I've driven 30+ miles and haven't gotten the tpms light go off yet.

VietnamPhenom 10-02-2012 01:33 AM

Did you swap the sensors over? Looks like they are standard rubber valve stems installed on your rims. If thats the case, the TPMS light wont shut off until it can recognize the sensor, or it might have to be trained back into the ECU.

i have been thinking about it, since there is a bit of a gap to play with, but i'm going to track this a couple of more times, read up some reviews of good aftermarket mods, learn about physics, and the chassis, and then I'll throw it down a bit.

No tpms swapped as these will be my spare track set. I will be driving mostly on the stocks when i get a feel for these and track it some more. Surprisingly, I havent gotten the light go off yet and I've driven well over 30 miles...nearly half a tank of gas to be exact.

diirk 10-03-2012 10:41 AM

These are certainly the lightest XXR's I've seen. Very nice. My research also shows them to be about 18 lbs each.

Looks great. Congrats.

They seem to range from about $110-125 each. It appears that Discount Tires carry them in addition to a SoCal shop called Next Level Motoring

It wont go off then. It doesnt sense the signals from those sensor. Until those sensors are in range, that wont light turn off.

what i meant by "go off," was that the light has NOT shown up or appeared on the dash. so, im surprised that it has not yet turned ON.. lol

I bought them from 88ROTORS in El Monte for $450 +tax. unfortunately they dont install them but just hand them to you, but they have a bunch of other products that are available in their shop.

I've calculated over 100+ miles on these wheels and still haven't had the tpms light turn on my dash. is there anyone else who's had the same experience?

Just picked up a set of these XXR 527's in 17x8.25. These however are not the 10 hole type that will fit 5x100 and 5x114. These are only 5 hole and I love the look over the 10 hole. Just wondering if anyone else has seen these before or has them? And wanted to share in case anyone has been looking for something like this. Apparently there is only one supplier who carries them in the US.

mackdaddytran 01-16-2014 05:13 PM

You're kinda backwards. One lug pattern is what everybody wants - generally nobody likes the dual.

Dwood11 01-16-2014 06:06 PM

? I think I stated I love the 5 hole. Thats why I bought them. Allow myself to quote myself. "These are only 5 hole and I love the look over the 10 hole". I had to read it again to make sure I understood your post. Right?

Clipdat 01-16-2014 06:53 PM

I agree I like the non dual drilled version that you have better, nice looking wheel!

headlikeahole 01-16-2014 07:11 PM

I have the exact same wheels in 10 holes and honestly its not something I have ever cared about. When I look at your car it doesnt look any different to me.

Hallucin8 01-16-2014 07:20 PM

They look better than the dual-drilled ones. Nice find!

red_comet 01-16-2014 08:45 PM

@Dwood11- totally looks better than the dual drilled. Nice find!

Thats what makes this world go round. If we all liked the same thing this place would really be boring. For me its just cleaner. The 10 holes wouldn't keep me up at night if I went with them instead. I was a little worried about them being too dark. All the pics I looked at of the chromium xxr stuff seems to be inconstant in shade and color. These however look amazing in certain types of lighting.

XXR is doing a fine job of making rims that are affordable and look really good. Other than being a tad heavier than I would have liked, they are perfect.

headlikeahole 01-16-2014 08:52 PM

I agree with you on that, the color on mine look similar to yours I love them. Are you on lowering springs or stock?

Dwood11 01-16-2014 08:58 PM

Im on hotchkis springs right now. Im kinda ballin on a budget(see the stretched primacy's), but along with the sways, lca's, camber bolt's up front and a really aggressive track alignment the car is wicked fun to drive now. Did not want to go with cheap coils for now. Would rather wait and save up for the real deal.

Im starting to run out of things I want to upgrade. Im starting to worry I might not have anything to obsess over?

blugbox 01-16-2014 09:34 PM

I have a set of these in 18x8.75. I love them too!!

Nice. I debated 18's for a long while. They do look better for sure in terms of them filling up the space. However pilot sports aren't cheap in 17's and in 18' forget it. This was the last set of 17 5 holes they had, and with less than 30 sets to exist to this point I loved the exclusivity.

syrs_finest_frs 01-17-2014 12:04 AM

I want these in the 18x8.75 in chromium black. Where are you guys getting the 5 lug from?

Dwood11 01-17-2014 12:17 AM

I picked mine up from this place. They have 18's in 5 lug in stock I believe.

http://www.motorsportsr.com/commerce/index.php

blugbox 01-17-2014 01:50 AM

Same here. That place is legit, and the guy is very nice. Picked them up locally from him.

Dwood11 01-17-2014 09:20 AM

Me too. Drove down there on Wednesday. They hooked me up with hub rings and lug nuts as well. All for a really good price. I recommend them to anyone.

syrs_finest_frs 01-17-2014 11:30 PM

Hummm... Couldn't find the 527 style? Maybe I'm just incompetent enough to navigate the site lol

Dwood11 01-17-2014 11:48 PM

They sell them through ebay as well. That's how I found them originally. Here is the link.
They are now back ordered so call them if you really want them and ask how long till they get them back in stock.

DarrenDriven 01-19-2014 10:26 PM

What offset did you get?

Dwood11 01-20-2014 12:47 AM

+35. Perfect fit. I really love the look. Such a great wheel for the price.

DarrenDriven 01-20-2014 12:01 PM

Merged @Dwood11's topic: same wheel w/ same specs

Dinko 01-22-2014 10:40 AM

Dinko 06-05-2014 04:36 PM
