Bikers overwhelm local cops with highway stunt show Dozens of Missouri motorcycle stunt riders took to the freeways of St. Louis late last week for an event they called the "Ride of the Century." For at least one member, the event produced the photo of the century. Organized by Kansas City-based Blox Starz, the group frequently stages stunt rides in various Midwestern cities and at paid events. As far as Missouri state law cares, popping a wheelie while putting your legs through the handlebars could get you cited for "careless and imprudent driving," but the Blox Stars say they're not speeding and in control of their bikes — outside of the occasional crash. http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image...1/09/derek.jpg These particular shots from the group's Facebook gallery became an instant favorite; while some riders were pulled over, many were not, simply because there aren't enough officers to stop a few hundred bikers. The ballsiest stunt? Probably the rider who defied every distracted driving ad by posting to Facebook while standing on his bike facing the wrong way. Photos: Derek W. LOL....good stuff.
|
Hilarious. One of these days I'll learn to do a wheelie on my bike... maybe. On the flip side, these guys give people like me who ride a sport bike a bad name.
|
I would consider those more of a Standard custom than a sportbike.
They changed the handle bars...therefore, it changed the way they sit on the bike |

Edit: Oh wait, never mind it's written. |

That's so lame!! What a bunch of retards and a good way to give riders a bad rep! :slap:
Ruff Ryders did that shit here in CA but instead shut down the entire freeway! [u2b]j1Gk0HJVE8Y[/u2b] |
1st person view from these douchebags! :slap: I don't know how you guys think this shit is cool.

I really hate when bikers go in between cars. Several times, I was tempted to open the door. btw is that legal?

But motorcyclist do it because its the worst place for a motorcycle to be. You can hardly see them so just let them go upfront. But what those guys are doing in the video is pure stupidity. Freaking nabs. -_- |
what was the point of the road block?
i saw other videos where they just cruised right through slowly. |

So it would be a good idea to keep your door closed! That is unless you want to get a facefull of a 400 lb motorcycle traveling at 40 mph+! Quote:
This is all the CHP can say about it... Can motorcycle riders "split" lanes and ride between other vehicles? Lane splitting by motorcycles is permissible but must be done in a safe and prudent manner. Worse case scenario is that they'll write you up for the a: California Lane Sharing ticket CVC 21658(a) which will get dropped. Quote:
Maybe if I was in my early 20's I would think that was hot shit but after riding for about 15 yrs, lost 2 buddies in motorcycle accidents, had my fair share of moving violations, that video is a prime example of complete stupidity. It gives those who ride responsibly a bad name and another reason for cops to target riders. Sooner or later they'll get it! :bs: |

I think it's stupid and dangerous at the same time, why can't we just ride both wheels on the ground? |

Splitting lanes is NOT illegal in California, although it's also not expressly written that it is legal. It's only legal because it's not illegal, if that makes sense. I live in AZ and splitting lanes is illegal, but I still do it once in a while. The only time I split lanes is if I feel that it would be less safe to NOT do it. For example, if traffic is backed up on a freeway exit ramp, I'll ride on the shoulder or split lanes to get through because sitting in traffic on a highway ramp, with no car behind me or only 1 car behind me, is VERY dangerous. If I get rear ended, I'll probably die. I never go more than 5ish MPH above what the other cars are going, and I only do it when I feel unsafe by not doing it. |
