Pic request...17x8 +35....

Alright guys, want to see the TSW Nurburgring and Enkie RPF1 in 17x8 +35 on the FRS/BRZ. Have seen the +45s but would love to see them in the slightly more aggressive offset. Bonus points if you have the wheels in black mounted on a whiteout/swp car....

If I missed pics somewhere pls point them out, searched a bit and didn't see any in this size.

diirk 09-30-2012 05:51 PM

I'd love to see this too.

Entropy 10-01-2012 05:25 PM

There is a blue 86 running bronze 17x8 +35 ones on 235/45 tires. Check the wheel directory.

fl_speed001 10-01-2012 10:15 PM

Just browsed the wheel directory again and didn't see either the RPF1 or TSW in that 17x7 +35 fitment. Have a link by any chance? That is the tire size I was considering too, so that's exactly what I was hoping to see...

giraffee 10-06-2012 08:48 PM

Bump. I would love to see this also :(

JoeBoxer 10-06-2012 09:50 PM

I think the blue one was in one of the TSW threads in the vendor classifieds, it may not be there anymore after all the threads got locked but worth a try.

fl_speed001 10-06-2012 10:16 PM

I have looked all over and haven't been able to find any pics of wheels in this size/offset. You would think they would be popular as the compromise between form function from a wheel perspective.

I agree. I have Regamasters coming in 17x8 +35. Undecided on tyre, will either be 215/40 or 235/40.

Anyway, this is close enough..... 17x8 + 38. (So 17x8 +35 will stick out 3mm MORE than these pics, but as if you will notice 3mm)

Stock height

Exact same car and wheels, but with lowered suspension.... (2.5" drop)

Too much drop IMO, 1" would be better, and this is what I will do.

But I definitely think 17x8 +35 is the best size for this car.

I have the Enkei PF01 in that size and offset. I'll try to get some real pictures tomorrow. Here are some cell phone pics.

Yeah, definitely would be better with a 1" drop. Pls post pics when you get your regamasters. Still looking for the RPF1s in this fitment too...wondering if the spokes will be concave at all.

Those are another option. Definitely post more pics when you can, want to see some side shots too!

RPF1's in 8" width don't look nearly as good as the 9's. It's like the spoke is convex instead of concave.

That's what I'm afraid of, was hoping for a flat spoke vs a convex one.

I haven't had a chance to take better pictures so I just grabbed some iphone pics for the moment.

I really want to see 17's as well, but in the mean time, here's some 19" TSW Nurburgrings on an argento.

That's the pearl, not argento

Akired86 10-11-2012 07:04 AM

I have Enkei RPF1 17x8 +35 offset, waiting for the centric ring on the wheels. Once I get them I'll post some pics on the wheels.

TSW Nurburgring Bronze 17 x 8 +35...

8 Megapixel Droid Camera with almost no sunlight left. I will be taking it to the mountains today and getting some daylight photos.

dabocx 10-13-2012 05:20 PM

My friend has some 17X8 +32 that he might now use. I want to slap on the stock tires on them and see how that fits.

dori. 10-14-2012 02:33 AM

I believe the RPF01 is coming out in 17x9 +35. that's the one you want since the narrower widths are going to look similar (not flat/concave).

Akired86 10-15-2012 08:27 AM

Is there any reason why someone would use a 17x9" wide? Beside looks, I mean wider tires/rims doesn't mean better handling moreover it heavier and diameter of the wheel changes, this could result slower less fun to drive car not to mention higher fuel consumption. But then again it your money, think before you spend those hard earn dollars!

At this point it's for looks, but once folks are laying down 500+ horsepower on the ground, they'll probably want big sticky drive tires.

They are coming out in +45 next month at TireRack. +35 will limit tire size unless if you run high camber and it'll be useless up front. Of course some people are into that. There are a few that run +35 RPF1 17x9 on this site, so I'm sure you can source some out if you want that offset. The face/concave will be the same +35 vs. +45.

How do you figure this? 17x8 +35 will fit fine and allow a 245/40-17 to be run with maybe -2°of camber. Unless everyone else is wrong.

JoeBoxer 10-17-2012 02:42 AM

I saw another wheel in 17x8 +35 you guys might be interested in, Neuspeed RSe05.
http://www.neuspeed.com/880502s-rse0...eel.html#popUp[products]/1/

17.5 pounds, black or gunmetal, and 57.1 center bore is 1mm more than ours so shouldn't need hubrings.

Well, as I said in my post, if you run some high camber as you just pointed out. Of course I may be wrong after some further research. It would work great on the track. And I did see someone ran wider tires with some more rolling of the fenders. But they do still stick out a bit with +35 wheels up front. In the rear I think they would tuck in nicely. But again, you are also talking about an 8 inch wheel vs. a 9 inch wheel. My reference was to 9 inch. I'm just concerned about the front.

dori. 10-17-2012 05:07 AM

I was just answering why the 8" width doesn't have the flat face

I didn't say anything about fitment.

9" wide wheel with +35 offset is going to poke up front on stock suspension, yeah.
but with springs/coilovers and some camber it'll fit fine

but if I wanted track wheels I'd go with the 17x8 personally
