Price Check on a new FRS Driverside Fender
 

Hey guys im in need of a new driver side fender for my firestorm FRS. Some crazy guy got out of a Dodge Durango and screamed why are you following me, why are you following me and he started kicking my fender like 5 times. So I slammed it into reverse and backup up about 10 feet and the put it in drive and sped off to get away from him. I wasn't even following him at all we just happened to be going to the same place at the same time.

When I sped off I hit a speedbump going about 45 in the parking lot and the FR-S handled it very well it was like running over a soft pillow.

I filed a police report, but I didn't press any charges since I am a very forgiving person. My insurance wont cover it since it wasn't a car accident and they dont cover malacious damage caused by other people.

So now I am in need of a red FR-S driver side bumper.

You should have probably pressed charges. Now this guy will continue doing this to other people, because he thinks he can get away with it. People get shot here for less than that.

Yes they do. The only caveat I could see is if you knew who did it and refused to press charges.

All in all, sounds like a terrible troll / bullshit.

It was the cop that said they dont cover the damage but i called them and they said they will cover it. and for the pressing charges part i think the guy lives in my neighborhood because he was behind on my street when I pulled out and he passed me later after he cut me off, he almost hit me so I wailed my horn at him, and I continued following him because he was going in the same direction I was heading too and after 5 more miles he got out at the stop sign and starting kicking my car and asking why I was following him.

You don't want to press charges againnst looney's that live near you, they will hunt you down and shoot you.

This makes no sense. Why let a screaming driver get close to you? Why let him kick vehicle 5 times? Why file police report and not press charges? Why don't you have insurance on your new car?

not cool to just kick in someones fender but i would love to hear the other guys story... a lot of gestures and words could be said in a 5 mile stretch.

It is certainly not wise to vandalize a man's property right in front of him for much the same reason...

IF the mutt has a good attitude about it and is apologetic, he needs to pay for all damages, and then be served with a restraining order. If not, he needs to spend some time in some substandard government housing an a felony charge of damaging property or whatever the proper name for the offense, then be sued for damages.

i call bs on this story, why would you not press charges on something like this? Im a very nice and forgiving person but something like this you just dont brush off your shoulders. Also if he lives near you could of just gotten a retraining order. You should of floored it in revers once you saw him get out of his car. If someone did this to me, i would of ran to my trunk and gotten my 2' 1/2" torque wrench.

No, im sure this sort of thing happens in others countries as well. Try any middle eastern country or any where with a strong Islamic presence for instance.

This guy who kicked your fender 5 times sounded like he was on "Bath Salts" LOL! You should have pressed charges. Maybe you would have saved a future life. He could have gone home and beat his wife and kids because you failed to press charges. He basically assaulted you.

This guys know who you are if he lives in your hood, so he is probably going to seek you out and beat in the rest of your car. You better get a gun and a big dog and get ready. I would be scared if I was you.

I hope it all works out. Go to the police tomorrow and press charges. Don't be scared to put bad people in their place. That is what jail, prisons, and mental institutions are for.

The fenders on these are dirt cheap I was guessing like $600 bucks but they are less than $200.

Nope, sided in my favor. Self defense against a guy who was a career criminal who had many arrests and a couple of warrants. I am sure he had fun wheeling around in prison for his two year sentence. I believe I have posted about it here previously.

Great. Glad that worked out for you. However, recommending we all go Rambo on crazy people is probably not the wisest thing. I guess if you're prepared and have a little training it's probably a good way to get justice served and save taxpayer money...smartest thing for everyone else would be get out of there and call the cops...and then PRESS CHARGES...

Is the paint broke?
Do yourself a favor and don't replace the fender. Bring it to a dealership and tell them to get a PDR(paintless dent removal) guy out there. He may only be able to get them to 90% and it'll cost you only a couple hundred. its better than a new fender and blending the hood and door. That gets expensive and do you really want people painting your car?

And just wait for the next jerk to hit your car and have his insurance pay for it...
