Where to hang clothes..

So i picked up a new suit the other day, went to hang it up on the grab handle on the passenger side and there is no grab handle..

Now i have no idea where to hang the suit, or jacket or shirts..

Anyone else have this problem and has come up with a solution??

Boost_Junkie 09-27-2012 09:13 AM

You could always lay the seats down and lay it flat I guess. Or put it on and drive the car James Bond style, lol.

Hook it on one of the legs of the third brake light and lay the suit on the rear seat back.

CBR600RR 09-27-2012 09:22 AM

When i pick up my drycleaning I just lift a headrest a little and hook the hanger of one of the metal posts and the cloths just hang over the passanger seat.

Yeah i did that the other day, but i will have someone in the passenger seat this weekend, guess i could put the seat forward and hang it behind..
i guess ill work it out eventually.

CBR600RR 09-27-2012 10:14 AM

^ ya that could work.

the first time I went to hang a suit, I was cerfuffelled too

Hawaiian 09-27-2012 10:46 AM

I go for the back side of the passenger seat. I hook it under the head rest, and let it hang into the foot well.

I'm with this especially since the car looks exotic at moment.

But the suit has to be fitted or it won't work. Too much fabric isn't James Bond's style.

Foobar 09-27-2012 10:59 AM

Whenever I pick up my suits from dry cleaning I just lay em flat in the trunk.

If you got more than a few suits being transported, maybe there's some kind of an adjustable clothes bar that you can rig in the rear passenger area somehow. Obviously can't hook on to existing hangers or oh-shit bars since they don't exist in our cars, but maybe there's some other option to span the bar across.

earthsscum 09-27-2012 11:24 AM

ran into this problem the other day when I picked up some dry cleaning.. already said but I laid the seats down and +1 on james bond (it does have similar looks to an aston martin)

RYU 09-27-2012 11:47 AM

In trying to be as James Bond as possible, I've been putting my suit jacket in the trunk doing my best to lay it flat. Of course I drive to my destination James Bond style and get there before I left. The problem is.. my suit jacket gets all tossed around so instead of looking like a boss I look like Mr. Bean.

I ordered 1 of these this morning [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Don-Mark-Coat-Caddy/dp/B000K3EV0W/ref=pd_sbs_a_4"]Amazon.com: Coat Caddy: Home & Kitchen[/ame]

Solution, get a job that doesn't require a suit. Heck last time I wore a tie was 10 years ago. I'll never go back to a lifestyle that requires style. Too much work. :)

Ah if decisions in life were only that easy... Fortunately, I don't have a problem with wearing suits, but even if I did, there are too many variables involved in the equation to just find a different job, assuming I'd want to change it in the first place.

Neat idea, but given the angle of our seats and the space behind them, I think your jacket would still end up getting bunched up on the rear seat. Let us know how it works out!

NeedsmoreCowbell 09-27-2012 01:01 PM

The only real solution is to devise a proper automatic suit and scuba gear holder in the trunk. Works for bond and special agent Michael Corben.

Yeah, NY has that whole image issue, but I do respect anyone that's willing to run that rat race, course looking badass in a nice suite to chicks does have it's advantages...

Yeah but no suit = no car :(

well, i could afford the car, but little else haha.

I tried putting the passenger seat forward and hanging them off the back with the headrest poles, but i am 6'5", so they are pretty long shirts.. they didnt sit well haha.

I plan on coming up with a solution for this problem, seems as if i am not the only one.
Next time i see my car audio guy, might see if he can fiberglass me up something.
I know the car is not really the most functional thing around, but its my daily so i need to make do haha.

jadewbj 09-28-2012 12:33 PM

I think the seats down lay flat seems to be the best method to me.

No coat hooks? What a silly little oversight!

Unfortunately for me, no suit = no car, also. There's no way I'm getting in a low-slung sports car wearing a suit jacket - that thing's going in the back somewhere. C'mon, even my 1987 $#!tbox Toyota has one!

a.beck 09-29-2012 07:56 PM

Sort of related: yesterday when my lady friend and I test drove a BRZ, one of the first things she commented on was the lack of "oh shit" handles. So I'll be installing an aftermarket one of those in the passenger side, which I guess will double as a clothes hanger when the need arises.

Anyone looked into that option?

86BRZ 09-30-2012 03:49 AM

Now I am thinking about it, I have not pick up my dry clean since owning the BRZ, I think I will keep asking my wife to do that, problem solved.

fuddbutter 09-30-2012 06:49 AM

So yesterday i took off as i had an engagement party and was staying in a motel close by.
went to pack the car, my little suit case doesn't fit anywhere in the back securely cause of the tire hump..
Only place i had to put the suit was laying flat in the trunk and with the suitcase not secure, i couldn't leave that in there as it would have slid around over the suit.
So it had to go in the front passenger foot well, the presents on the back seat and suit in the back.
for very little luggage, i used up a lot of space haha.

Maybe i can get one of them pushbike racks for the back and hang the suit off that?

finch1750 06-25-2013 12:05 PM

Superbump to see if anyone got a solution? My problem is I umpire baseball, so my trunk is full of gear and I am carry 5 shirts plus 2 pairs of pants, so laying them down doesnt really solve anything even if I could.

Pkush 07-08-2015 05:07 PM

Moar bump. Anyone got a solutiooon?

Jfheisenberg 07-08-2015 05:59 PM

I just lay flat all my dress shirts from the dry cleaning in the trunk (my trunk is 99.9% empty all the time)

krayzie 07-08-2015 06:10 PM

Even if this car is equipped with hanger hooks, once you corner fast the clothes will get thrown to the seats anyway so it's really pointless.

Put the suit carrier in the trunk.

Need to start wearing a suit to work soon. Really wish this car had a place to hang it -_-

Speed2th 10-23-2015 05:49 AM

maybe you can use this

daiheadjai 10-23-2015 03:18 PM

Hang it on the center high-mount taillight (the UFO in your mirror).
It has 3 legs - you can hook your jacket in there.
I do it all the time when my wife is in the passenger seat.

LOLS2K 10-23-2015 03:38 PM

I saw someone driving an FRS yesterday with their clothes hanging somewhere in the passenger cabin area. My best guess is that it was hanging from the visor. Obstructing his view but shirt looked unwrinkled. :iono:

MokSpeed 10-23-2015 03:56 PM

I usually just lay it flat. I usually don't have much in my trunk other than a detail kit and a small box of tools, which both would proceed to be moved into the backseat.

computeruser 10-25-2015 08:06 PM

So I get the drycleaning problem - hanging it off the headrest legs, draping onto the passenger seat is the best I've come up with. It's essentially the same as how I hung stuff of the rollbar in my Jeep, pre-BRZ.

But do y'all seriously take your jackets off to drive? I wear a suit pretty much every single day and essentially never go jacketless while driving, unless it is 90+ degrees out and the car has been baking in the sun. The suits look fine (I think?) in spite of doing this, certainly not showing any more wrinkle than they will get from sitting in a chair at the office or at court.
