Yes there are :bellyroll: i made this guy by taking the back seat person and rotating him by the joints to preserve his height properly

So basically this car does not look proportional at all lol

Spaceywilly 09-14-2011 11:03 PM

This pic shows a guy standing next to the concept. Or maybe I should say towering over it. The car barely comes up to his waist.

Mannequin dude is definitely not 4' 9". 5' 6" would be my guess. About the same size as the lady in front of the car in this pic. Someone figure out her height in rims :)

Sea1monkey2 09-14-2011 11:08 PM

regardless of the mannequin dude's measured size, in the picture, that is the scale in relation to the car, so the diagram is like not to proportion, is is just to show the layout the seats/drivetrain

Here's my take on the mannequins. I measured the height of the car in pixels and used the fact that that is 50" to come up with a scale (1 pixel = ~.3in). I think the mannequins are both the same height, I just didn't do a very good job straightening them. My guess is that they're both 6'.

Question is, how much does it weigh? ;)

can we figure that out from pixel data?

Hahaha, no you can't.

Lettuce be cereal. No one is fitting in the back of this thing.

I think it's good to have the option, even if you are crammed in there. I have never sat in the back seat of a coupe (E46, tC, Civic Si, Mustang) where my head didn't bang up against the glass, but it still beats walking :)

It's pretty awesome that it will seat 2+2 and still be the size of a Miata/Cayman, and looks like it will have decent cargo room with the seats folded.

That's a pretty close approximation assuming the bald guy and the guy in the studio are around 6'0.

Fred yellow internets, you just won't be able to fit anyone over 6' tall :iono:.

the fact its a 2+2 allows me to buy it as i have 2 kids. without the back seats, the chance of my buying is reduced significantly.

I had some free time at work today so I decided to scale the x-ray view. All of the dimensions matched up with the length, height, and wheelbase specs. The 41" shown is at eye level in the drivers seat.

Cool, Manny. Very thorough.

21 would be huge for a 200 hp car, no? :iono: Think of all that unsprung weight :iono:

MannyO 09-16-2011 11:54 AM

Yeah it makes no sense to have anything near that size one a car like this. I'll work up another side view with 17" rims.

I'm no expert, but 17-in. rims on this car sounds about right.

Very nice MannyO, :thanks:.

I figured they were huge wheels. But who would have thought that they would use 6' people for a seating comparison? They must be thinking about the tall broz! :w00t:

I am 6' so this is good news to me. Even though I won't be sitting in the back. :bellyroll:

pastuch 09-16-2011 03:51 PM

SKIS?

What do you folks think? Is it going to be possible to throw skis in the back of this bad boy. I'm starting to have doubts. My skis are 161cm to 180cm. That works out to a minimum length of 63.4in and up to 70.9 inches. At these lengths will the skis be blocking the shifter?

Yes, I do plan on driving it in snow.

Abflug 09-16-2011 03:57 PM

roofrack?!

This is the only option for my bike!

Marrk 09-16-2011 04:04 PM

Gee, Manny, images like your last remind me that this might turn out to be one helluva sexy car.

This is perfect for trunk space guestimates! Could you please calculate how far back the driver seat is from the front of the car?

I think it's around 90 inches. Meaning there is only 70 inches MAX from the back of the drivers seat to the trunk opening?

I just confirmed with AutoCAD. From the front of the car to the back of the drivers seat is 96" which leaves 70" for the trunk.

Top job guys, really good stuff.

damn impressive shrlock homles deduction skills boys

philip808 09-20-2011 09:12 PM

I thought we had already established the car height by using the rim (wheel) diameter on the test car? Just use the 17" rim (wheel) on the test cars as a basis to measure everything else on the car..more accurate than using a drawn image that may not be to scale..thus the 21" rims (wheels).

YMMV.

Well.. better get on those bucket seats you 6'3+ giants! lol

I like this picture with the guy standing next to it. Gives you a good idea of how it looks with someone as a reference.

r diff seems barely too low for proper trunk space estimate

zeroshift 09-21-2011 11:27 PM

It's amazing what you can do when you have nothing else to do.

:D

no_name 09-22-2011 11:14 AM

The apparent load height from that pic is really low. The top of the bumper is at his knees! Getting stuff in and out of the trunk is going to be really easy.

Edit: I think these lines are right

I am nearly 6'3" and I fit just fine in my Yaris. But it is a tall little car, even after I lowered it. I am going to be REALLY bummed if this car comes out, its everything I hoped it would be, and I can't fit in it.

Many years ago when I could only afford a older used car I was really falling for the spunky little Toyota Paseo. I had the money it was affordable I was ready. Went down the used car lot and I just could not fit in that little car. But I have driven my friend 2000 Celica GT-S and I fit it in just fine.

Anyway, here is hoping us tall folks won't have any problems.
