3 Attachment(s)
Hi All,

Picked up my GTS last Friday, and took some piccies today. Excuse shit pictures that's me not the camera.

Spec:
Manual GTS Aero Tornado Grey
OZ Ultra Leggera 18x8+48 with Federal 595 RS-R
Visual Garage shark fin.
TRD Rear Duckbill replacing "Nur-Spec" wing (which has gone to it's new home)

Ryan1JZ 09-26-2012 04:05 AM

looks good! just need to lower it! (imo)

were the holes used for the aero kit wing useful for installing the trd spoiler?

Holes were no good for the TRD spoiler, although 4 of them would line up with the BRZ wing (leaving you two to drill).

As an FYI for anyone looking at going this route, there are 12 :eyebulge: holes for the Aero kit wing, and it has a wire harness running through from end to end - it's a serious piece of kit I'm getting the bootlid welded and repainted, but was budgeting for that anyway.

So keep that in mind.

As to lowering - the bodykit reduces clearance a little though no scrapes yet, either TRD, STI or RCE springs are on the agenda.

Nice looking car, pity it wasn't Sonic Blue or I'd have been buying that wing off you!

Gratz Panman! I see you have started on the parts replacing already. I was thinking of doing something similar with the wheels but I'm liking the stock rims too much so I'll have to wait to get bored of them first.

Happy Driving :w00t:

Sparkles 09-26-2012 04:37 AM

Congrats Panman! Sweet mods already

TheDemons 09-26-2012 05:10 AM

Congrats, looks good, TRD spoiler looks awesome

DanVIIIVI 09-26-2012 05:37 AM

Looks the goods panman! Look forward to checking it out in the flesh shortly!

Love the wheels, they were on of the sets on my long shopping list too.
Makes me wish i ordered Aero kit too, but was worried about removing wing.

Cappuccino 09-26-2012 05:40 AM

Very nice! Really like what you have done!

a.beck 09-26-2012 05:53 AM

Hawt.

So jealous.

That is all.

:)

Nardi330 09-26-2012 05:57 AM

Hey Panman,

Nice looking setup. Looks much better with the TRD rear spoiler.
One question though, where did you source the Beatrush Master Cylinder Stopper?

-Steve

EDIT: NVM found the GB(which expired), and contacting JS directly.

Palmy 09-26-2012 07:03 AM

Aero + TRD duckbill is pure sex. If it didn't effect ground clearance so badly I would have gone down this path, looks fantastic though.

whyreeto 09-26-2012 08:37 AM

hey buddy are you in sydney by any chance? I'm still looking for a place to professionally fit and paint my TRD spoiler, can you recommend me?

King springs will soon have 30mm lowered springs. Roughly $300 for all four.

Surok 09-26-2012 07:36 PM

That looks mad!

Hmm, interesting option - I'm not keen to lower it too much (all of the info I've seen say 15-20mm is good with the standard geometry without negatively affected handling), and with the body kit there's clearance to consider.

The car is certainly compliant enough out of the box, and that makes a difference for a primarily DD with some track rather than the other way round.

If you want to spend a little more coin you can get adjustable Japanese coilovers. Choose your ride height and stiffen up the shocks when you get to the track. Just don't get anything stiffer than 6kg springs. I have 5kg springs and don't think I'd want to go much firmer.

Nardi330 09-26-2012 09:35 PM

maybe check out the MCA coilovers. their blue series is pretty affordable.

70NYD 09-26-2012 10:07 PM

man, i am VERY jelly at the moment :(
but good work your car looks awesome :D
keep it up :D

MarkMash 09-26-2012 10:32 PM

looks awesome mate - tastefully done!!

st162celica 09-26-2012 10:57 PM

Nice dude nice.

Great colour choice

ZZT86 09-26-2012 11:09 PM

Sweet ! I like the TRD kit but not a fan of their rear skirt - the angles don't look right. Ideally TRD would release a version as it stands plus another 50-100kW of power with the obligatory boxer turbo burble ! :burnrubber:

Nafe 09-27-2012 06:00 AM

Keith - Looks GREAT man!!!
Good tos ee that wing on!! Believe it or not mine still isn't done.............. Don't start me on that!!
Who fitted yours dude?

MarkMash 09-27-2012 06:08 AM

yeah was just going to ask, who did you get to fit the spoiler?

Nafe 09-27-2012 06:12 AM

After my painter having my spoiler for the better part of 2 months, I am losing faith.....

Tommi 09-27-2012 06:14 AM

more pics!

Fitted it myself to cover some of the "big wing" holes. Went on very easily - I dremelled off the mounting bolts and the factory tape holds it rock solid. It'll be refitted when the bootlid gets welded as I want even the holes covered by the TRD wing done.

I figured that the factory tape would be a good temporary solution, but after curing time you can roll the whole car back and forward it's that solid.

I'll be using CDR at Archerfield for the bootlid - lots of recommendations for them, and they are reasonably priced, will post close up before and after pictures when I get the work done.

Looks awesome! I love how the duckbill spoiler looks on this kit! A lot nicer than the Nur-spec. Love the rims too! MORE pics please!!!
