Original Post:
I have been drooling over the forums for about a month. Finally the opportunity came when I got a raise at work, so I decided to pull the trigger and actually got a good deal with $0 down, and $1000 off MSRP (Military). It has the Bespoke system, spoiler, tint, mudguards, and the "toyoguard".

I hope to dip the wheels until I can afford some Rotas. Not a big fan of the dual color stock wheels. Also hope to do some AutoX next year with my brother, who is big in the Mustang drag scene in the area, and he owns his own shop too.

My wife has been saying she wants to give me something for sacrificing so much for her and the kids, I just can't believe I have something this nice now. I wish everyone could be this fortunate. :thanks:

Congrats and thank you for your service!

So, how is the fitment on the spoiler?

Mishimoto 09-26-2012 03:02 PM

Congrats on the raise and the ride!

Day 2 with the car, and I've already got 230 miles, all city (and back roads)! I'm coming from a van as a DD, and this thing feels like a go-cart. My wife loves it too, and she surprised me with how well she took back to the clutch.

I got a picture of my FR-S with some of the other cars at work. Looks the best IMHO, and I'm sure a lot of you will agree. :happy0180:

close-up of spoiler? Looks good from those pictures.

Ok Update!

Painted my wheels and calipers last night. I used plasti-dip on the wheels, and Duplicolor red caliper paint on the brakes. I really think this ties the whole color scheme of the car in IMO. Next up is some lowering springs (as soon as somebody buys my Bespoke HU). Also I plan on painting all the yellow caps, and plastic things in the engine bay red too. Yes I took the antenna off to, because I don't use the radio and I didn't like the look of the big stick poking out the top. Maybe once I'm not broke (there are two kids car seats in the back ATM) I can get a shark fin. :happy0180:

Also, I did this today... :party0030:

Rampage 10-06-2012 07:31 PM

Nice job doing low cost but good appearance mods that have added to the classy look of the car.

ML 10-06-2012 08:04 PM

Thanks, I haven't spent more than 15$ so far.

chaotichoax 10-06-2012 09:02 PM

just plasti-dipping the wheels does a lot for white...I might have to steal this idea from you

nice work

Quentin 10-06-2012 10:30 PM

Looks great. Will definitely do the same when I finally get an frs.

WhiteFR-S 10-07-2012 10:39 PM

looks fantastic!

DIM 10-07-2012 11:04 PM

Looks good so far. But all that plastic's/caps you painted in the engine bay was an overkill IMO. A few of them would've been nicer.

Yeah, lol thats what my brother said too. I just wasn't feelin' the yellow plastic when every other trim piece is red. Nothing alittle paint thinner/acetone/replacements can't fix.

Thanks, and thanks.

I think its TRD, it was from the dealer, and didn't say in the description.

Personally I think the tire size is almost perfect on this car, maybe go with a 225 on the same rim, and a better tire like the hankook. Maybe I don't drive fast enough but I don't drive with the Trac on and I feel like I have to actually TRY to get the rear end loose on the stock tires. :iono: (i dont have to try hard though)

Mrqb22 10-08-2012 01:53 PM

which 225. being the middle #

ML 10-08-2012 02:17 PM

No pics, but I got my first oil change yesterday, and everything feels a lot smoother with the car. Also had the seat cover replaced due to a torn red stitch (warranty), and the dealership ordered a new HPFP for my crickets.

1200 miles.

2pt5RS 10-17-2012 11:58 AM

That is the Five Axis spoiler.

Sweet, it would be nice to not be the only 86 owner in the county. Hopefully we can have a NC meetup soon.

XtremeMaC 10-26-2012 11:01 PM

nicely done!

wtf??? so many things in there :)
why do u need the iphone for pandora?

the power socket as in many other vehicles, is not conveniently placed. It would have been awesome if it was next to the usb/audio jack..
because of this you had route the cable above the shifter... I got a longer cable and connected some bits of the cable under where the dash and ... just look at the badly drawn picture :)
its not my car, i haven't taken a pic of it yet.. but u'll get the idea. u can stick it in the green part..

You do realize there is a 12v power socket in the glove compartment right? And the pandora app on the bespoke hu only works with an iPhone :(

Had my first AutoX yesterday. It was amazingly fun. Thanks to all the guys at the CCR SCCA chapter for putting up with my "newbness". 9th out of 20 isnt bad I guess on stock tires.

Ha, thank you. Had no idea about the power outlet in glove box. i've been moving my cupholder back a notch and its too far back already.

XtremeMaC 11-01-2012 01:27 AM

yea man, thank you as well. had not even bothered to look that deep in the glove box :)

Some updates! Main one being the new Mach V springs. The car now feels like it as 90% body roll eliminated. I was"nt" doing 70 around some 35 mph turns out in the country and the stuff in my passenger seat didn't even budge .:happyanim:

I also got a K&N drop in filter. I think I can tell a difference lol, but it has to be better than that stock filter. Man that thing is huge.

I have a SRP heel toe pedal on the way and a Perrin Pulley.

I was thinking about a cat-back delete with a pipe turndown for track days. Autox season starts back in March.

johnb831 11-18-2012 11:39 AM

Nicely done!!

I added a few things yesterday.

I put on my Perrin pulley, in the parking lot at work during lunch. Thats how easy the install was. Everything seems smoother, and the needle drops faster with the clutch pushed in.

I also installed the Perrin 2inch stub antenna. I like it because I haven't seen many people go this route. Also put on a SRP gas pedal last week to help with heel toe.

Then I picked this led light up from Home Depot. If you have ever been stuck on the side of the road in the dark with out a light source you will appreciate this. I attached the base with 3m to the top of the hood, and the light strip itselft attaches with magnets, so I just throw it in the glove box when not being used....$14 awesome.

Mishimoto 11-29-2012 12:32 PM

Looks great! Those LED lights are super handy.
