My first fr-s boo boo :'(

So yesterday, I went thru a shitty "drive thru" at a taco shack and accidentally ran over a yellow parking bump.. felt it scrape the bottom and it didn't feel to great driving over it.

Anyways, there was to scuffs on the front lip, under the lip and nothing dripping, and no strange sounds afterwards. But what damage could it possibly have done???

What kind of tacos did you get?

damage? a scraped front lip..

i mean unless it was something huge, everything should be okay

hope those were some good tacos lol jk
but on serious note, im usually always scared when i have to go through speedbumps, dips and steep driveways and etc so i always go slow and angled

This is why I always walk-in.
I hate drive thru's. They're just out to curb your wheels.

no sir, i'm not as stupid as you make me out to be, they weren't the gigantic brand spanking new ones in malls and local parking lots. they're smaller and worn down, (looked like they'd been run over quite a few times). the drive thru wasn't a typical drivethru either, it neighbors another restaurant parking lot so at the angle i was at It looked like i could turn into that lot no problem. welp, i was wrong, lol. I can't imagine how idiotic I looked.

the "scraping" was probably attributed to the car contacting the
"steel protective panel" underneath maybe crawl under there and check that!

Eurasianman 09-25-2012 10:45 AM

At least you didn't scuff up your rims.

Yea, don't feel bad about that. I had the same thought, for about 1 mile. Then I realized 1) this was going to be a 20K a year daily driver for me and 2) I was thirsty.

Stopped at the first Racetrac I passed and got a 44oz Diet Mountain Dew to break in the cup holder to celebrate my new ride.

joergasm 09-29-2012 02:26 PM

When I get my BRZ I'm going to have a no food rule so I won't know how this feels.
Unless I have crazy munchies or a super hot girl will 100% put out.

Yeah, i was anal about any food, drinks, liquids, dirt on the carpets. Kept the dealer paper mat covers for like 2 weeks. Than real life set in that I was going to be using the car a lot and might as well enjoy it. Unless you're putting mcdonalds perfumed fries by the vents every week, I really don't think its'going to affect anything, lol

Totally, off subject, but speaking of "new car smell", I had the occasion to get a rental car this week. It was Chevy Sonic hatchback that had 6 miles on it (how is that even possible?) when I got in it. It had the oddest new car smell.

It smelled like a combination of superglue and melting plastic.

The car itself though wasn't bad for what it was, but it definitely cried out for at 6MT. For all of you that think the 6AT in the 86 isn't as good as us that own one think it is, rent a Sonic and put it in manual mode. There is literally a second or more pause between hitting the shift button and it actually occurring.

I have to say though it is about the most fun econobox that GM has ever built that I've driven (and I've driven most of them).
