Moto-P 4ag quote on engine
"Toyota team went back to the drawing board to modify the design of the FB engine to better suit the naturally aspirated, spirited use. This includes harmonic and flow revisions to the head and intake/exhaust, acoustic tuning by Yamaha, and revised piston, rods, and some key locations for enhanced durability and serviceability, with focus on consistent sport driving use, rather than sheer power output or short duration limited use. The block, I have been told, was revised for aftermarket tunability (bore modifications?) and longer serviceable life for enthusiastic users who these are designed for, not only for just sporting nature's sake, but for extended ownership as such hobby cars. That's all I can shout out to a public forum now...http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emsmile.gif We'll just wait and see in about 2 months, the final design for production. November 30th.-ish."
As well, moto-p mentioned the car was designed to be used with 17inch rims "The FT86 is designed to handle appropriately on 17" wheels and tires. That is not to say for those that really don't care about handling, all the HELLAFLUSH fans can slam it on bags and stuff the canted, castered, and uselessly cambered 18", 19" or whatever on it as long as its his/her own. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emsmile.gif It's for every man and any passion. Just buy one and enjoy it when its out. That's what car fanaticism is all about guys! As Oldeskewl Dan says, 12" and 9.5" wide wheels may be a bit extreme and way too wide to fit though...LOL. It's only a small car the size of a AE86!" And no led strips at the front from what he saw "No use criticizing things that haven't been released yet, and so late in the process of constructive criticisms. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emsmile.gif I'll assure you, that I don't personally have many issues with most of the details, if any... I can't say anything about the headlights or auxiliary lights, but what I saw as production model in Tada san's PC screen, did not have the trailing LEDs on the front spoiler lower section. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emsmile.gif" |
#1 Good news for track crazies...nothing like an engine that can't hold under constant pressure (think 370Z) or blows with a bit-o-tuning!
#2 Hell yea! 17s are the best, lightest, cheapest for great handling wheels and tires! #3 ummmm... there better be LEDs there somewhere. Not very fashionable without dem strip lights! |
1: sounds promising
2: 17s are nice and small for today. I still like 15s :) 3: thank god. LED strips are usually f'ing ugly and the ones on the concept are the ugliest I've seen yet. I love LEDs when used nicely (taillights, round clusters for city etc lights, parking/turn/marker lights) but the form over function crap like the concept no thanks. Dd I mention how butt ugly the concepts were? |
Very nice. Also lke the car was design for 17". Are Advan TC III available in 17"? Those are the rims I want, fitted with 255 tires allround.

As long as I can achieve two things with this car ill be happy...
1: Go to a track and whoop on a senseless country boys mustang. 2: Get a million looks driving downtown and pick up a girl without any effort. Tada: You have all of my faith homie.... |
Any rim smaller than 17'' will look completely retarded on this car. Sure it would be better for straight line acceleration but I doubt it will make the car handle better. You would also have to turn your car into a street sweeper to make it look decent with those wheels.

I'm planning to throw them on my car though. I wanted them to have a dual purpose. |
Hopefully 15 or 16" steelies will still fit. I need something small and cheap to put my winters on.
