Top Twenty Driving Shoes

So I saw this and thought I'd share, anything I can do to help add to the experience of owning the car.

I wear these every chance I get... They're comfortable and work good for my feet and driving:

Most piloti ive tried are great for casual to aggressive driving.

I have a pair of Adi Racers (brown) that I did a couple of autocrosses in. Great shoes for driving, but they killed my feet when working corners. I just use Converse All-Stars now. The sole is thin enough to have good feel, but I can work a corner without radioing in to ask how many cars are left in the heat.

Ravenlokk 09-24-2012 01:21 AM

I've got some old Piloti's as well... But they need to be repaired, the sole is starting to seperate on the right shoe :(

These are my other pair of shoes that work surprisingly well for driving, and go with the more dressier look at the same time. I really like them almost as much as my Piloti shoes posted above previously.

Diesel brand:

Thanks for this thread I will probably try the Sparco Time 77's or the Piloti's.

tisb0b 09-24-2012 01:51 AM

I like driving in bare feet nice and easy, I don't see the point in driving shoes.

Check out the Puma Speedcats as well. I had friends like them in the past.

Synack 09-24-2012 10:02 AM

Believe it or not I've actually had no problem using Nike Shox....

artizhay 09-24-2012 01:20 PM

No, Chuck Taylors.

:)

travace 09-24-2012 01:26 PM

never had "driving shoes" but i love vans. the specific tred pattern is my fav

TouchMyHonda 09-24-2012 01:31 PM

Half those shoes are totally worthless. What a joke of a list. I was expecting real driving shoes.

Zaggeron 09-24-2012 01:39 PM

Chuck Taylors FTW!

Vivobarefoot Evo II or Evo III

So underrated, it's not considered a driving shoe. It's for barefoot running to handle the elements.

artizhay 09-24-2012 01:46 PM

Oh, if we're going for barefoot shoes, these babies got you covered:

M-17 09-24-2012 02:03 PM

It looks like they understand the concept of a good driving shoe, but most of their picks from that list is just straight up ridiculous.

Fine for running, but embarrassing to wear in public just for hanging out.

Boost_Junkie 09-24-2012 02:07 PM

My Nike Free-Runs have been working well.

The topic is in regard to driving, not going out in public.

Synack 09-24-2012 02:28 PM

Hmmmm I have yet to try my trail running shoes.

Do you even know what "real" driving shoes are? :sigh: The headline doesn't say "racing shoes" [i.e. fire/crash safety] either, so that implies recreational driving shoes.

I believe Ayrton Senna would be proud of that list, ignoring the awful Piloti's. The best driving shoes are the closest thing to wearing nothing at all, yet still providing some protection or perhaps a better foundation for heel-n-toe.

LoL, they're awesome... They really suit my personality and style... And the final push for me to buy them was that I felt they would work well with driving... And they do! :happy0180:

dem00n 09-24-2012 03:49 PM

paraguin 09-24-2012 04:00 PM

I am wearing DC's, my friend turned me on to skate shoes for comfyness and being able to feel perfect pressure back from the pedals.

Oh boy, another Lotus driver assuming he's the only person who know what racing is and or is qualified to speak of such topic. Yes I know what racing shoes are lol. Any other silly questions or assumptions our highness?

ichitaka05 09-24-2012 07:25 PM

I have a slightly older pair of the Adi Racer Low. I absolutely love them! I'm on my 3rd or 4th pair of the Adidas/Goodyear shoe line. I had Puma Speedcats too, but the soles have zero arch support and they're too skinny for good heel-toe maneuvers.

I think I'm getting these next - Feroza Elite:
