235/40 Nitto Motivo, still waiting on my camber bolts so i can get my Tein H Techs installed. I like these quite a bit better than the gold DPT's i had. The center caps i wasn't a fan of though, left them off for now. Also got the BRZ side vents on now too.

sa1126 09-20-2012 09:35 PM

Wow looks amazing on the whiteout.

Yeah currently stock height the 235/40's fill up the fenderwells a little better.

randomweather 09-21-2012 11:56 AM

any side profile shots? wondering how much they poke in the front

JoeBoxer 09-21-2012 12:11 PM

It's not on level ground on those pictures but I will get some more shots this weekend. I put the center caps on too they look better installed than i thought they would.

it's about a half inch not bad at all with the drop and camber should be able to bring it in a little more.

RallySport Direct 09-21-2012 12:43 PM

Looks great! H Techs are really going to complement your setup.

That's all the pics i have the rears are perfectly flush, the fronts stick out about a half inch. They make a 17x8.25 front i'm considering just don't know how that would effect the handling. I am a dealer for XXR pm me if you have any questions about them.

lbroskee 09-22-2012 03:00 PM

i got the same rims in gunmetal and i agree, the center caps suck!. any ideas on replacing them (like is it a universal size or a site for options)?

Actually after i put them in i can deal with them. I will see if i can find some though.

BRZranger 09-22-2012 04:28 PM

Wicked. I normally don't care for silver wheels, these look perfect on whiteout.

BRZranger 09-22-2012 04:30 PM

Wheel weight?

21.2 according to the place i get them through, they seem to be about a pound lighter each than the Rota DPT i had. Once i get my springs installed, HID's and reflash i will consider this Stage 1 complete. I will be saving up for Stage 2 which will be KW coilovers, AVO turbo kit(unless there is a supercharger kit that comes out i like) and some lighter weight wheels maybe Forgestar or Works.

I had gold on there but it was a little "ricey" I wanted to go with more of a euro look which i think came out nicely.

RYU 09-23-2012 11:53 PM

Woohoo! Looks hot! But I could be bias ;)

I have some "poke" dead on side shots if you want me to toss them up

Btw.. If you go with the RCE springs, they recommend a 1.5*/1.5* camber setup. Your stock setup is 0 to 0.8* at best. With the extra recommended neg camber the front should sit pretty flush. You'll likely also need to reduce neg cam in the rear.. so again, fitment should be great.

JoeBoxer 09-24-2012 01:10 AM

Yeah I can't wait to get the springs on with the camber bolts so I can get the stance right, handling should improve as well. Go ahead and post some pics in here regan

lbroskee 09-24-2012 01:26 AM

can't wait to see that. would love to see how it sits on these rims, mainly for clearance

RYU 09-24-2012 11:00 AM

JoeBoxer - Oh, that's right...you're going with H-Techs. I had forgotten. Those will sit lower IIRC so that'll look even better once you get the alignment dialed in. BTW! Thanks for hooking it up with the wheels!

Here's something I found regarding the factory alignment settings. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7918

It shows that stock settings are at 0 deg front Camber and already between -0.7 to -1.3 rear camber. Once lowered you'll gain some camber in the front but will still need to add some more with camber plates/bolts. In the rear you'll need to pull some back (assuming you want a -1.5* all around setup per RCE recommendations). I think the end result after alignment will be perfect.

Btw.. on the tires, I think you made the right choice. I went with 225/40 and 245/35. This is only 1.88% taller and 0.57% taller than the stock 215/45/17. The 235/40 are 3.12% taller. I try to stay under 3% variance to stock but I think this car expects a taller tire out of the box. I was clocked at 32mph on the radar but my dash showed 34mph (some other folks experienced this here also). The extra height on the 235/40 should help make your speedo more accurate and for the street you won't notice any penalty in acceleration. It'll also decrease the wheel/fender gap ever so slightly ;)

Here's the front at stock height and stock camber. 0* stock camber
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps40d98179.jpg
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps212c2e4a.jpg

Here's the rear at stock height and stock camber. Already at -0.7* to -1.3* stock camber
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps51f700de.jpg
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps38046941.jpg

Again, stock height and stock camber. My RCE Yellows are coming in this week. I'll take pics before/after lowering and before/after alignment to 1.5*.

Haha! I was wondering if our friend yomny noticed they were different cars too. Brother from another mother/manufacturer indeed!

I'm so glad I went with the HyperSilver color btw... It was exactly the understated, daily driver, mature look I was going for. Reminds me of a poor man's E46 M3 Competition. I know.. big stretch! haha

http://inlinethumb62.webshots.com/40...600x600Q85.jpg

Can't wait for the suspension mods too.

yomny 09-24-2012 02:46 PM

:confused0068: lol sucks, its so similar that one automatically assumes its the same car, that goes to show some of us dont have a splinter cell mind lol, looks great though!
:bonk: lol its not even the same car.

JoeBoxer 09-24-2012 02:54 PM

My BRZ side vents add to the confusion as well!

The stance is XXR 530 18x8.75 with +35 offset all around I think, but I have to double check. I am running Hankook tires with staggered fitment, have the specification later. Also I was going to run my new Perrin FRS/BRZ front liscense plate holder, but I was afraid someone might steal it. I will put it on for the show, right now as you can see it just staging.

Very nice ride you got there!

I am interested in getting the XXR 530s (flat black), staggered in 18/8.75/35+.

Do you know how wide the rear rims will be and if they will fit without modding the guards?

Calidrifter 12-30-2012 06:23 AM

Staggered as in wider tyres or wheels in the back? Arches are rolled from factory.

norrisnail 06-30-2014 02:39 PM

i know this thread is a bit old but i was wondering if i put these wheels on a stock brz and through on the eibach sport line springs if i would have any issue with the extra inch drop and rubbing

thank you! i have the +33 too but didn't see any talk of springs on that thread (maybe i didn't look hard enough, kinda new to the forum game.) do you have any real difficulty entering raised parking lots or bottoming out on bumpy roads? cuz thats my real worry in my town
