What's the deal with these JP TRD parts? Will they be available in the U.S? Is there a TRD US site?

It would be cool to try out these pipes that change the sound in the resonance chamber/tube.

Why not? people spend 300+ on an air intake that has no gains purely for the sound, why not spend 20$ and save some dough. Some people I know changed out cams purely for sound.

JoeBoxer 09-19-2012 01:26 AM

I would like to have those lug nuts but not for $200 plus.

I should of been more specific.

No TRD JP parts for this car will not make it to USA. That's one of the reason TRD JP exhaust & TRD USA exhaust are two different designs. We're not sure what JP parts ARE actually coming here... we can only hope

As for noise generator, I'm not against it. When Tada-san told me about it when I had a chance to talk w him, I thought it was pretty interesting idea.

Try japanparts.com or avoturboworld in late October.

I'm going to use these with an aftermarket intake that preserves the sound tube connection. Intake orchestra in the cabin = :D

If you want to change/increase the sound coming from the generator, you can modify the stock one. I had mine out a while ago...it is easy to remove and looks easy to modify. The stock piece is grey and is partially blocked by a molded in "T" on the inside. This "T" has a piece of foam glued to it. Removing the foam and/or drilling out the T should increase the sound coming into the cabin. It shouldn't take any more than a half an hour to do if you want to try it.

From the Bing translation of TRD's Facebook page, regarding the sound changers:

"Red is a racy sound quality to introduce sound to direct. Green is a sports type up slightly and volume than normal. Blue is a gentle type of quiet to normal tuning."

In other words, "Really loud, not so loud, quieter than stock." And here I was hoping for blow-off whoosh. :bellyroll:

Hey I need that money to buy me FRS/BRZ first...

Actually I'm broke right now, so you won't be taking any money out lmao

dabocx 09-19-2012 12:56 PM

How much would it get these seats in the US? I was planning on getting aftermarket seats but these looks great as well.

TuxedoCartman 09-24-2012 05:45 AM

Huh. So I did some researching and comparison shopping online, and it really looks like those TRD seats are just recovered Bride Stradia II Sports, but they're going to be selling them for as much as a set of carbon fiber and aluminum frame Stradia II's (160,000 yen for the TRD vs. 129,150 for a plain black Stradia II Sport. The high-end CF Stradias are 165,900 yen). Take a look and compare...

Personally? Since I'm only planning on replacing the driver's seat, and the Bride will match the stock interior better,I think I might go with the Stradia II seat, and just pick up the TRD rails for the airbag canceler (I strongly suspect they'll bolt straight up).

alex86 09-24-2012 05:54 AM

bride looks better

jaredf1 10-22-2012 10:59 PM

Finishing on the Bride seat is a lot better...
