The FR-S Test Drive

New Blog is up! I Test Drive the 2013 Scion FR-S

Leave your comments on the blog!

Thanks in advance.

SpeedR 09-17-2012 03:23 PM

Wast of time driving FR-S with 20s!

Dealer that gave them that car to test should be shot.
Blogger that did the test should have enough sense to ask for a stock car or at the very least a car not severely handicapped and there for should also be shot.
Don’t waste your time with this BS.

Got3n 09-17-2012 03:23 PM

omg, sorry, but thats one ugly fr-s :-(, 20's!??!?!

DOC Race 09-17-2012 05:35 PM

almost looks like a donk, lol!!

winter 09-17-2012 05:42 PM

wow 17mpg (avg I'm assuming) - Unless this was reset before he took it for an aggressive test drive they beat the hell out of this thing in its first 1k miles. I feel sorry for anyone who buys that particular car.

Jaxxx 09-17-2012 05:56 PM

$28k is pricey?

dem00n 09-17-2012 06:24 PM

Damn, 20 inch wheels really do ruin the car. :confused0068:

pyro530 09-17-2012 06:27 PM

Damn, I think I just puked a little.

xAgentzero13 09-17-2012 06:31 PM

wow man people love to destroy the FRS! lol Ferrari badges and 20s damn!

Guff 09-17-2012 06:33 PM

I'm sorry, I know I'm not supposed to hate and stuff but...

WHO THE HELL WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS??!!? :mad0260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0 260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0260:: mad0260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0260::mad0260:

/end rant

I'm sorry OP, that you had to be subjected to that. Everything from acceleration, steering feel, steering response, and even MPG must have been absolutely compromised by the addition of those 4 things. :mad0259::mad0259:

ichitaka05 09-17-2012 06:52 PM

Report card is off IMO
Affordability 5/10 - that's somewhat understandable...
Practicality 2/10 - Really? What other (current) sports car in that length that has leg space for the back passengers... seriously
Maintenance 8/10 - I guess this reader haven't read any CEL & idle problems... or other first yr bugs.
and other two should have been at least 9 or high

Guff 09-17-2012 06:58 PM

And MPG should have been almost doubled...

Yea, 2/10 practicality.. for a soccer mom who NEEDS to pick up 3 kids and groceries for the week.

I find the FR-S/BRZ's practicality more like 8/10 for what I need.

Exactly! If they're looking for some sports car that has some seats in the back, go buy Panamera!

8/10? Now that's more understandable

xAgentzero13 09-17-2012 11:55 PM

WHo ever buys that car with 20s on it is on the same level of stupidity as the Ferrari FRS lmao!

Lonewolf 09-18-2012 12:21 AM

That car is ruined with 20's...steering feel, handling balance, ride, and acceleration were all negatively affected by that comical setup...
Mike Calvert = you suck at modifying

CrazyWookiee 09-18-2012 12:22 AM

WHO IS THIS MIKE CALVERT?! FIND HIM.

gmookher 09-18-2012 01:59 AM

ugly

Sasquachulator 09-18-2012 02:06 AM

He found it difficult to keep the revs below 5500???

ANd he's wondering why his gas mileage sucks???

Does he realize WHY he's at 5500 RPM....cuz HES GOT ****ING 20's ON THE DAMN THING!

Jeez I didnt even think its possible to even turn with those wheels.....

cgrey 09-18-2012 02:23 AM

A poorly written review. Not sure why he bothered adding to the pile.

YW-Slayer 09-18-2012 03:09 AM

Automatic version.

sounds like you only need 2.5/10 practicality. :happy0180: the car really isnt that practical. sports cars in general arent but for many people that doesnt matter. when its all said and done, i dont think the review was that bad. its just the car he had to review doesnt reflect the values that many of us on the forum have.

czar07 09-18-2012 04:28 AM

I think if you are reviewing a "Sports Coupe" practicality should be the LEAST weighted item on the list.

Those rims have been done before....

GNS 09-18-2012 05:09 PM

I've seen wheels like these, but they're usually on Cadillacs.

jadewbj 09-19-2012 08:45 AM

On second thought to make it a real review they should have thrown about 500 pounds of rocks in the back too. Just to be sure.

Blackfly 09-19-2012 09:36 AM

I appreciate all your comments, positive or negative. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

Just keep in mind I will test drive many other cars from the new Dodge Dart to a Corvette ZR1. The Corvette ZR1 will, no doubt be a 1.

Both my Camaro's (2002 & 2011) I would consider a 2. Actually, my '02 would be a 1 since it is for AutoX/Road racing and car show's.

Yes. Because it was fun to drive. The higher RPM's gave me stiff pants.

^^ This!

LMAO! nice!

Craig 09-19-2012 02:04 PM

Everyone seemed to miss the opening of his review. He admitted to barely liking small block v8s. This car wasn't built for the muscleheads.

Griffdawg 09-19-2012 08:22 PM

them rims are so ugly makes me want to commit suicide just looking at them.

ahausheer 09-19-2012 09:17 PM

re-donkulous
