Oooh looks nice. Can't wait for the 13!

#87 09-07-2011 04:21 AM

If it is going to be the same concept car what other information do you think will be released? I hope its something new and not just some more pretty pictures.

Nambo 09-07-2011 04:46 AM

Great video! Thanks for sharing. Less than a week to go!

ft86cbx 09-07-2011 05:44 AM

Great find. :thanks:

The white one looked nice on the screen that they were looking at.

First time I really noticed how much the side skirts flared out.

Buggy51 09-07-2011 06:22 AM

Remind me, are most of these videos old?

Yep. All apart from the one shown at the top of this thread.

Imagine if they added a bit of black to the white and made it panda colour concept ;)

I think that's exactly what they are gonna do.

Dark 09-07-2011 09:50 AM

I don't get it. Are they trying to make a new FT86 II?

Chibi86 09-07-2011 10:12 AM

Could it be just possible that they wanted to introduce the Final version in Franckfort Autoshow, it'll be logic as they'll revealed the BRZ of Subaru...

no_name 09-07-2011 10:26 AM

It looks like all they're doing is painting the Mk2 concept and bringing it to Frankfurt. Hopefully not.

Would be cool. I like black, but I'm not sure the photos show off the lines under the show lights that well.

The screen also shows a nice blue one. Maybe more than 1 on display??

I wonder if they would go all out and display the final look and then hold back specs and price til December? Unlikely, but we can hope for something more than a respray :)

Giccin 09-07-2011 12:20 PM

Mmmm. That White.... in the screen shot... oh baby.

ft86cbx 09-07-2011 01:28 PM

So high chance of white with the front skirt under the license plate being black.

Locked and loaded.

Spaceywilly 09-07-2011 01:30 PM

looks like they are painting it white for Frankfurt. :D

KadeS 09-07-2011 01:47 PM

I've always liked white cars....

VenomRush 09-07-2011 02:02 PM

i think that is just a fluke of them showing off the rendering software, that was a preview drawing of the car, it wasnt a completely rendered image

KevinDuMa 09-07-2011 02:47 PM

Just seeing the shell being painted I can see more of a resemblance to the mkIII now. Please Toyota enough with the concepts...well looks like they're painting it white, so excited to see that at least.

It does look like the MKII shell but hopefully they'll change it up compared to the Geneva concept.

I just now read the description and it says a faster and lighter brand new Toyota Ft-86...well we wouldn't know anything about that would we? Cause they never gave us any damn specs! I'm still waiting on something of the interior but I doubt it...

PAImportTuner 09-07-2011 03:27 PM

Frankfurt is getting the same thing shown as Australia, they are creating more buzz for Germany debut. It is only logical to release production version and details of either car in Japan on November 3-5. Then April 12' New York will have the US production versions.

Toyota will show at TIAS, Scion and Subaru at NYIAS, unless things are changed to all show at TIAS, doubt it.

iff2mastamatt 09-07-2011 03:32 PM

The body, side vents, spacing for the front LEDs look like the MKII all over again. I don't think this is anything new folks. Maybe a promo video for the show?

Harinjo 09-07-2011 03:36 PM

Today i got tickets for Frankfurt from my boss :D

DanExtremeRacing 09-07-2011 03:42 PM

Harinjo 09-07-2011 04:03 PM

my toyota dealer told me that they will do some changes on mk2 for frankfurt auto show

xrs 09-07-2011 04:17 PM

:mad0260: OMG...how long are they gonna milk this??? I'm starting to think they're really undecided on the final direction on this car. Crossing my fingers for the 13th and praying they'll give us something concrete!

Chill. I said it resembles it I'm not saying it looks just like it. I don't think they look alike either but when its the shell it kind of resembles the mkiii.

fernan2 09-07-2011 06:45 PM

What part resembles it? Is it b/c it's primared in a paint booth like the Five Axis model? After all, it does say FT-86 II in the title... just saying...

Actually that is what I'm saying. The two cars didn't look very similar to me before but after seeing the ft-86 ii stripped down without the headlights and wheels ready to paint I can see they are not as far apart in looks as I thought. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3LM4w4kBrA You're going to watch that and not tell me they don't look like they have anything in common? Nevertheless its my opinion if you don't think they do then thats you get off my case.
